nokia 6200 - solid phone for the serious user
This is a very good phone. I have had it for a couple months now, and i can't really find any real fault with it. For its small size it is packed with features. It has a large bright color screen which is readable in daylight. It uses EGPRS for fast internet, and in my area, ATT/Cingular has good reception for clear calling. It can operate at 850/1800/1900 frequencies which enables use essentially world wide. The speakerphone is strong and loud, and there is a voice recording feature also. Despite having features of an advanced phone, Nokia has retained its trademark user-friendliness in this phone. Scrolling over a feature with the 4-way nav button activates help text for information. Additional perks include MMS, polyphonic ringtones, and FM radio with headset included in the package.
The drawbacks are small keys, but within a week, using the keypad seems like old hat. Unfortunately it does not have a camera, but this was a generation before camera phones came out. Dust tends to collect under the screen over longer periods of time, but can be cleaned by opening up the external case. I invested in a cheap (made in china) leather case and since then i have not had dust problems. Overall this is a solid phone with features designed for serious users. People wanting cameras and mp3 players in their phones look elsewhere.

Solid phone
Purchased the 6200 as a replacement for the horrendous 3595 offered by AT&T wireless as an introductory GSM phone.The 6200 signal/voice quality blows the 3595 away.

The ergonomics are awkward for those with larger hands, but after a few days of use, the keypad is tolerable.

The complaints posted here about "dust under the screen" are bizarre -- just take the back off the phone, snap off the front cover, and CLEAN the inside of the screen and the face of the LCD!It takes all of about 30 seconds ....

takes a dip, doesn't skip
This is a great phone, and I was distraught when I realized that I had it on when I jumped in the pool for a couple of minutes. When I took the soggy handset in to get a replacement, I found out that Cingular didn't carry them anymore. Luckily, a rep there was nice enough to sell me her cherished 6200. Two weeks later, I thought I'd just test the old swimmer one more time, and IT WORKS!!! Now I have a backup for my next stupid move, and even more admiration for Nokia phones.

Nice phone but going to try a Nokia 8390
I think all the other reviews tell the story: great phone, great features, if you use them. Unfortunately I don't use the phone for anything other than as a phone. Give me a phone I can use anywhere. The color display is a problem for me, indoors it is fine but in areas where sunlight is intense it is very difficult to see the display. If key lock is on it is even worse, my ability to read this display is about 60% of my old 3360. I am going to look for a phone with a LCD display with lots of contrast and all the phone features of this phone (wish me luck). Any suggestions please email waynger@overbeckmachine.com

You know what?I don't know when people don't just buy Nokia's and make themselves happy.I see all these bad reviews on some of the 'coolest' and 'newesr' phones out there with all these bells & whistles but one thing the other companies forget it actually making it functional enough so the end user isn't pissed off all the time ... I don't get it!

The point is FUNCTIONALITY.I say the above statement because I temporarily got ployed into the new high rez screen flip camera phone nonsense that's going on out there.

First off, I've purchases 2 plans and 6 lines of service with AT&T over past 3 months ... NO COMPLAINTS.What I did was I purchased through all the online web sites that offer money back to you to buy the phones and plans.First one with letstalk, then cellular choices.Both excelent.I tracked the progress of my phone and the shipping, total took 4-7 days for phone activation and shipment.One was with brining my number over also.So overall, time wise was great. Shipment came fine, no problems with phones etc.Coverage also great.Coverage goes hand in hand though, bad phone gives bad reception.DON'T BE QUICK TO BLAME AT&T.

When I got my order I got the Nokia 3200 - great phone by the way, you can see my review on it but it's ugly.I sold it and got the NEC 525.OMH BAD MISTAKE.Dropped calls, calls overlapping eachother, little and to poor reception.I actually lucked out and was able to SWAP that with a Nokia 6200.I have been so happy since.Not once have I had a dropped call or bad reception ... NOT ONCE!Same carrier, same location, different phone ... I makes a world of difference and I believe part of that is because it is TRI-MODE.The guy I swapped with worked for Nokia and wanted a flip phone.I talked to him two days later and he said "This is a nice toy to play with but I'm going back to Nokia in a week or so" and he did!

As for me, I've tried them all late:Nokia, Samsung, LG, and NEC and I must say, no one can beat the Nokia technology.They may not be the best looking phones(well actually the Nokias that are new in Asia, Middle East, and Europe right now are GORGEOUS and do just about anything you can imagine, one plays movies and one even measures your pulse :O)

Design
Don't let this phone's wacky looks fool you. It's made tough for a rough and tumble world, while maintaining a style all its own. The front of the phone sports a 128 x 128 color LCD display. Ugh...
It's bad enough that "The merger" has cost AT&T customers extra money and hassle, but it's really sad that when I dropped this phone and the screen died, I had to buy a WHOLE new Motorola phone.

This Nokia was a pretty nice little phone for the 5-6 months I had it.The reception was pretty good and i really appreciated the loud ringtones.

However, physically speaking, this phone left a lot to be desired.The plastic cover tends to scratch very easily, even though the only places it ever sat was on my desk, in my pocket, or in the console of my car.

I'm still unsure how barely dropping the phone made the screen die.Oh well....

Well those are my pros and cons and this is a cool phone, much better than my old Nokia 3410 because it was'nt even a camera phone but now I have a camera phone like everyone else! It is decent and I could keep my Nokia 3410 number which was easy to remember because I had 2 sim cards because when I had a Nokia 3410, I accidently messed up the security settings on it and typed the wrong PIN code 3 times so the phone ended up being permanantly blocked and my 1st number was almost impossible to remember without looking in your phone book. Anyway I reccomend u buy it because it is cool and instead of having a plain walpaper with no colour on my Nokia 3410 I have Ray Mcoonie of Little Britain as my wallpaper! LOL!Buy this phone for a better version of the Nokia 7250i! Buy it immediatly!

Great Phone
This is a great phone. I got it as a Christmas present and have been using it for about a month now. There are mnay handy features my favorites are the flashlight and the radio. Although the camera's resolution is pretty low it still functions well by means of sending pictures to your friends or attaching to phone numbers. This phone also draws attention among the endless stream of silver flip phones.Overall this phone is good for anyone who uses thier phone to its maximum potential.

Nokia 3200 rocks!
I use the 3200 on the T-Mobile network and it rocks. Buy a AT&T pay-to-go version and unlock it to use on any network like T-Mobile. (type "nokia unlocking org" on google and follow first link for unlocking website)

Sporting a large, 4,096-color display screen and an unconventional, rotary-style keypad, we found the sturdy, feature-rich Nokia 3650 cell phone one of the best designed phones on the market, with excellent ease-of-use, crystal-clear reception, and a camera, video camera, and Internet access.

In our tests, we found that the comfortable rounded base of this 5-inch phone rested easily our palm, and the clever retro button display took only a moment of getting used to. The buttons and disc navigation felt quite durable, with a nice, solid action. Menu navigation involves two thin buttons on the top left and right that allowed us to move in and out of menus; then the standard 4-point clickable disc provided more detailed selection. There's a separate button for the main menu prominently below the disc, and the faux-rotary layout of the number buttons helped keep the navigation buttons out of the way during dialing. The requisite call and hang-up buttons are intuitively marked, and a futuristic-looking blue light shines through the numbers on all the buttons for easy keying in low-light areas.

The 3560 delivered consistent, excellent reception in a variety of testing environments, including a basement-level room that typically causes trouble with similar phones. The default ring tones were a bit too gentle for their own good; they were hard to hear in busy outdoor environments. The tones that we created using the composing feature, however, were quite audible, even in the midst of lots of noise. The vibrate alert was also quite effective and hard to miss. Nokia has also preloaded a variety of other polyphonic ring tones for alternate use, as well as a voice-dialing feature, which stores 25 numbers and was easy to use.

Thanks to high-speed GPRS connection, users can access a variety of Web content, such as news, travel information, and entertainment specifically designed for mobile phones via an XHTML browser, which supports pages written in both HTML and WML (Wireless Markup Language). The 3650's calendar, phone book, and to-do list can all be synchronized with a PC using Nokia 3650 PC Suite software. This phone also supports Java for downloading business applications, and built-in Bluetooth and infrared connections empower users to send photos and text in either e-mail or MMS format to a PC or to another compatible wireless device. Some of the downloadable Java and Symbian applications provided by Nokia through their website include Merriam-Webster Word Search, and games like Racing Fever, Avant Go, and Terminator.

The phone's digital VGA camera is cleverly built in to the back of phone, and can store up to 1,000 photos at 640 x 480 megapixel resolution on its (upgradeable) 16 MB memory card. How We Tested Battery Talk/Standby Time

When reading our reviews, you should view the test results of mobile-phonebattery talk time and standby time as relative information only. Many variables,including carrier signal strength at your location, signal consistency(including incoming and outgoing calls), display and ringer settings, andbattery charging methods and history, will affect performance. When handsetmanufacturers and mobile phone carriers list talk-time and standby-time ratings,they usually include disclaimers about variable performance and often refer tothe times they publish as maximum times. Some quote expected battery liferanges, and in this case you're probably safe to assume you'll experience atleast the minimum rated range. Note that manufacturers of dual-mode digital andanalog handsets publish battery-life rates for both digital and analog modes, asanalog mode consumes much more power than digital mode.

Our Tests: We tested digital-mode talk and standby times with each phone.Prior to each test, we fully charged the phone's battery according to themanufacturer's directions. To test digital-phone talk time, we turned the phoneon, established a digital carrier signal, dialed a number in our test lab, and,when the call rang through, took the receiving phone's handset off the hook.When all went well, we didn't do anything else except record the time when thephone died. In a couple of cases, the phones lost the signal and dropped thecalls. If we were right there and could redial, we did so immediately andcontinued running the test. Otherwise, we halted the test, recharged thebattery, and started the test over. Assuming consistent carrier-signal strength,this test should represent best-case talk time. And it's worth noting thatseveral phones' talk-time performance significantly exceeded the manufacturers'ratings.

To test digital-phone standby time, we turned the phone on, established acarrier signal, and left the phone in standby mode. We checked the phone everyfew hours (for what was often days on end) until the phone finally cut out.Since no outgoing or incoming calls occurred during testing and because thephone was not moved, this method should represent best-case standby time, againassuming consistent carrier signal strength.

GREAT PHONE(bluetooth,video,camera,XHTML)
I bought this phone because it was unique. Alot of my friend love to play around with the camera/video, and I don't see very many people walking around with this phone eihter so you'll definetly catch some attention when using it in pulic. I didn't even know of the real capability of this phone until I played around with it.

BLUETOOTH-This has been the biggest pro for me so far. I can send pics, ringtones, files etc. between my phone and computer at NO COST at all. This is great because it saves money by emailing jpegs from your computer rather then sending viaMultimedia Message. I can also use wireless headsets with this. What I really like about this feature is getting REAL VOICE RINGTONES. Even though it won't play MP3'S, I simply convert MP3'S to AMR files on my computer and send them via bluetoooh. It's not the best quality though, but it's something.

VIDEO/CAMERA-These aren't the best quality pics/vids I ever, but they look pretty decent compared to other camera phones. And just the fact that it even got video makes it unique. Infact I managed to download a program from the Nokia website that updates the video recorder to include sound (some people say they don't have sound with their video). I use the camera to take pics/vids of all my friends, and up close the pictues come out pretty good. Only con about this is that the videos are short(9-15 sec.), and there is no zoom in feature.

Apart from that the phone comes w/ every other feature that most other Nokia phones have (calculator, calender, notes, voice recorder, games)

The only cons I can think of is that sometimes when I'm on the phone with someone and 2 or more incoming calls show up, the phone will shut down and restart. As for the loudness of ringtones, I don't even use the default ringtones cause I get real ringtones, which sound off just fine when I get incoming calls. I have a bit of a problem though with turning on and off the Vibrating Alert. When I try to turn it off, it'll turn off and even stay off when I try to turn it back on. Plus it takes about 30 seconds just to turn the phone on, but these aren't major problems. And the size doesn't bother me at all, it fits perfectly in my palm and it doesn't take up space in my pocket, I simply use a belt clip.

5 stars for the features....
I have had this phone for well over a year now, and have considered upgrading several times to a smaller phone, but each time decided against it as this phone has every feature I could want.Even Motorola's new top-of-the-line RAZR phone does not have a slot for a SD/MMC card, and the phone is priced at about $500! This one has a card slot and it is two years old. That speaks volumes about the feature-richness of this phone from Nokia.

I am giving this phone a 5 star rating based on the features.Everyone knows this is a large phone- that is not a secret.It has the MMC slot, the Buetooth capability, infrared, in short, just about everything you could want in a phone, without an ultra-compact size.But can it really be expected that a phone with nearly every conceivable function will also be the smallest? Not likely.

Great phone, with one problem
Love the phone.I find that the large size fits perfect in your palm and can even be used to prop on your shoulder, unlike many cell phones.There are so many features on this phone, I lose track of time when playing with it.
Now, to the one complaint.The ringtones are not very loud.When I test them they sound great.But when I apply them to a contact and get an incoming call; it is much lower than before.If it is something I have done wrong, please any current users let me know!And yes, I have done the obvious and turned the volume to the fullest.

Good phone if it did what it advertises
Nokia advertises "Synchronize your phone book, calendar and to-do list with your PC using Nokia PC Suite 5" on the 3620/3650 phones, but the PC Suite application does not support Office 2003.This was one of the biggest selling points of the phone to me, and I can't use the most popular Personal Information Manager (Outlook 2003) with my phone.It worked with 2002, but 2003 is not supported.

Nokia claims this is because "this PC Suite version was made before Microsoft released Outlook 2003:.This is ludicrous.Office 2003 was in Beta (March 9, 2003) long before the Nokia 3620 was released (October 9, 2003). The development effort could have been completed before the release of the phone (and the supporting PC Suite application) in anticipation of the new (and, of course, widely adopted) Office suite. Furthermore, Office 2003 was released less than 2 weeks (October 21, 2003) after PC Suite was released.

Considering that the egregiously short-sighted decision to release without support for 2003 was made long ago and cannot be changed, one would think that Nokia planned to address this issue with a new version of PC Suite.Not so...

I loved the phone when I could use it as a "PDA-lite".Having all of my contacts and calendar entries in my phone made life easier.I didn't have to carry a seperate PDA, and I got all of my reminders just like I do in Outlook.Since I lost that functionality, I have a high-priced camera phone that I can play some VERY basic games on...

Great Phone with only one complaint
I know everyone complains about the size of this phone but for me it is a plus. I simply slip it into my pants pocket with little notice. As I get older my eye sight seems to be getting worse and worse. This is the only phone I have tried that I can read perfectly. It has a large screen, very good contrast, and good detail. Even pictures I take look better because the size of the screen. This phone would get a five but for the keypad, which I understand they have fixed with a newer model. I love the bluetooth feature. It has allowed me to use it as a PDA and link to outlook. It has also allowed me to download free tones and upload pictures to use as wallpapers. I also use a wireless head set. It has so many more options than the phones of my wife and daughters. The speaker phone is loud and clear. I don't use the web features so I can't comment on those features. Typically I like to upgrade to a new phone every year as the technology seems to come out with some new wrinkle that leaves me wanting. I have had this phone a little over a year, and in this case I am perfectly content but for the circular keypad. If I upgrade it will be for the same phone with the traditional cell phone keypad. I hope they continue to make phones this size and readable. Oh by the way, it is built really well. Not many cell phes would be able to fixed after falling into a lake. it's light, nice style, and very easy to use and extreamly cheap. if you want to save money, then this would fit u perfect. i have an ipod and a great digital cam, so who needs mp3 or cam feature. use your phone as a phone and look cool too...great phone right here.

Not as good as our old one
I don't plan to use the internet features of this phone. I wish it was sturdier. It cuts in and out way worse than our old one. You can't squish it to your head and the headset is unnerving to use in a room with other people. If you treat your phone really nice, only talk outdoors and for short periods of time, this might be just right.

A starter's best choice, but....
I no longer picks up my phone, because I never hear it ring,nor do I feel it viberate! The short cut bottom on the side of the phone switches it from viberate to loud ring, or the opposite way with no regard to your wish. I have had trouble hearing the ring on the street, quieting down its sudden burst in the concert hall is challenging as well, although the "old-fashioned" ring tone is really cool. :-) This is about the major shortcoming of this phone, but this shortcoming happens to be a major function and discipline of a cell-phone. Battery life is quite short - I only use the phone max 10 minutes a day, and I must charge it every other day, otherwise it dies with no warning.

3 very good thing about this phone: it's light, picks up good signal, and it's fast.

I wish the display is a little more attractive, and I don't have to flip the phone open to see who is calling, and easier in-put method. Besides that, it's a practical basic phone with good price.

Amazon is great.. phone is great, just say away from AT&T

I do like this phone a lot.I use it just as a phone, no internet.It's small, light and easy to use.However, there is a button on the side that turns the phone settings from a ring to a vibrate mode.I can never seem to get my husband on his phone because that button gets pushed and it doesn't ring.Which kinda defeats the purpose of a cell phone, if he doesn't get the call.I haven't been able to figure out a way to over-ride that button.Everyone does like the ring though, it has an old-fashioned phone ring to it. ... I have had this phone for about a year now.The features are pretty good.You get to use profiles, which i would say is the best thing about nokias in comparison to other phones.The phone's construction is very good, I have dropped it at least ten times, in the road, on the sidewalk, etc and it has held up well.It seems flimsy at times (but not weak) because the "xpress" covers are very thin, so you get some rattling and noises when you press the buttons every once in a while.The phone may also come apart if you drop it but it is very easily put back together, and everything has always worked fine.I am currently switching to a samsung flip phone (i miss the flip), but i am definitely hanging onto this phone because i have a feeling i might end up wanting to switch back.I'm not going to talk about "reception," because that depends completely on where you are and what company you have, as long as your phone isnt a complete piece of garbage.

Why no normal ring tone ???
This is a good little phone, nice features, perfect size, great extras.However, I do not understand why it does not come with the choice of a basic, normal ring tone.It only gives you a choice of different songs to use as ring tones.This is incredible, why does the company assume that everybody wants a phone that sounds like a jukebox?There are many of us who only want a normal, old-fashioned ring sound on our phones.This is definitely the phone's worst design blunder.

Not Nokia's best, but not their worst either
As a Suncom subscriber, I find this phone to be a great color ombile phone. One of the best things about it is it's compact size and incredibly light weight.Even at such a small size, it's easy to press the buttons and make calls. It very rarely drops or gievs me static.

A lot of people are giving it bad reviews and complaining about the lack of software for transferring their contacts.This has nothing to do with the phone, but rather their service provider, and shouldn't reflect in a review for the quality of the phone.Suncom/ AT&T do not allow use of downloadable ring tones or the Nokia PC Suite software, so if you have a plan with them, you'll have to transfer all of your contacts manually, and do this again when you get a new phone.

A couple of flaws I've noticed with my phone, is that it has no headset connection.Instead, it comes with a "speakerphone," that allows you to press a button and route sound to a built in speakerphone.When I heard about this, I thought it would be great for using in the car. I could just lay the phone on the seat next to me and talk without holding it.However, the speakerphone is pretty much worthless.Whenever I use it, it acts more like a walkie talkie, because the quality of sound is too poor to hear people, and the microphone is so weak that no one you talk to will be able to understand you unless the phone is a few inches from your mouth.Forget about laying the phone down in your car or on your desk and talking.

Another downside is the incredibly crummy ring tones this phone comes with.There is not a single normal sounding ring tone.you can't set your phone to a default "ring ring."Literally every single ring tone is some kind of wierd futuristic song. With the exception of the Nokia tune, none of these songs are common songs like the William Tell overture or Beethoven's 5th. They're all wierd songs that sound like noises that should be coming out of a robot.If you wear a suit to work, you probably want to set your phone on vibrate to avoid the stairs of your co-workers when someone calls you and your phone starts playing "Electric Eel" or "Futuristico."The other problem is that half of these tones start out softly or very slowly, so they're not very practical as ring tones.By the time the melody of the song starts and gets loud the person wil have hung up.

Lastly, the power-off button on the phone is almost impossible to use.I don't ever cut off my phone so it's not really a problem, but if you like to a lot, make sureyou have long fingernails.This is great for me because it prevents my phone from acidentally cutting off, but when I do need to use it, I actually have to use a letter opener or my keys to depress the button and activate it.

Despite these design flaws, I really am very satisifed with this phone and won't mind using it for another year until my contract is up.If you are a Suncom or AT&T customer and are currently thinking of a new phone, I would recommend upgrading to one of the better models that both of these plans now offer so you can get something that can use the Nokia PC Suite.

Basic and Juvenile
The phone doesn't synchronize with Outlook like my 6360 does.Now I have to enter my calendar by hand.It also doesn't have a decent ring tone that sounds like a real phone - how embarassing and unprofessional.The color screen is okay, but I'd rather have my calendar synch back and a ringtone that doesn't make me look like a child.

Decent value - Quality Engineering
This isn't a bad phone for the price.I had one for about a year... OK display, great battery performance (charges quick, and you can talk for hours on a single charge), good keyboard, good sound quality(for playing ring tones), decent hands-free performance, rugged construction, semi-confusing menu system.

But, it doesn't come with a built-in camera - so, when my C61 met an early demise, I decided to get the newer model Siemen's CT66, which has a camera, and uses the same charger as this model (so, at least I don't have to buy all new chargers for my car, work, home, travel bag, etc.)... I had an A56 before this one, and gave it to my mom when I upgraded to this one (that's another reason why I have so many chargers).

I'm partial to the Siemens non-flip design - it goes in and out of your pocket really easy... and I really like that they don't change the battery charger interface when they release new models.

Best Bang for your buck
For the price of a fat bar tip you can now own a mobile phone that does what a mobile phone is supposed to do without the bells and whistels. You get the basic sms modes, settings, basic address book, some games and whatever else you would expect with a mobile phone that comes free with a packet of cornflakes. The battery lasts about a day if you do not use it much. To be honest 10 sms and 1 10 minute call and this phone is gasping for electricity.

However it does what a mobile phone should do for a next to nothing price.

If you do not use mobile phones this is one to get.

Excellent Performance / Difficult Navigation
My fiance and I purchased this phone as an interim product while waiting on our Ericsson K700i's. PROS: I will have to say I am VERY impressed with the call quality and reception of this phone. I have talked to people in places other phones wouldn't even give me a signal. The CLARITY of the calls is also exceptional.The battery life is remarkable. The phonebook is easy enough to navigate. The speakerphone works well and is easily activated during a call. The buttons are laid out well despite the phones small size, but are slippery to the touch and if you have big thumbs like I do - then can be a bit tricky to navigate.CONS: The menu on the phone leaves something to be desired, I found it very difficult to navigate through to change the various options, it was not intuitive at all.The only other feature that was somewhat dissapointing was the difficulty in adjusting the volume during a call, there are no side/rocker buttons to adjust the volume, you have to interrupt the conversation and adjust it using the menu driven toggle button in the middle of the phone.Aside from missing a few features like bluetooth / pc-sync (usually only found in higher end phones) it's a great little phone for the price. I think if your looking for a solid, relatively small but not too small, light-weight and extremely reliable cell phone without a lot of bells and whistles - this is the phone for you.

While we liked the ability to use it as a conventional handset, Bluetooth is built in, so going hands-free is easy with a Bluetooth-enabled headset. If you're not Bluetooth-inclined, there's also a jack for a wired headset. Like ringtones? You can get creative with polyphonic sounds that get you noticed in a crowd.

The N-Gage QD packs plenty of portable graphics firepower.

If you can receive GPRS data via AT&T's mMode service, you can browse the wireless Web using the built-in browser. We found these features tricky to set up and the Nokia interface for these functions somewhat confusing, but once we got things going, we enjoyed downloading some game tips and tricks from n-gage.com. The unit also serves as a wireless e-mail and messaging client with support for all the latest protocols (MMS, SMS, IMAP4, POP3, SMTP, and MIME2). We especially liked the Java-based expandability of the phone; with a data connection it's fun to download new Java-based games and new game levels. You can also download productivity apps like calendars and planners.

With this iteration of the N-Gage, Nokia decided to drop the FM radio and MP3 player functions from the device. We think these would have been nice to retain, but Nokia was intent on making the N-Gage QD more exclusively focused on gaming. Nokia has retained multiplayer gaming via Bluetooth so you can still go head-to-head with up to four players via a wireless connection.

Gaming
Okay, the meat and potatoes. The Nokia N-Gage QD didn't disappoint when it came to gaming performance on a handheld device. The redesigned controls are far more user-friendly than those on the classic N-Gage. Gone are the days of clumsily pushing the directional pad inward to make a selection; a separate selection button is now available. The newly placed slot for games and memory expansion cards is one of the biggest improvements as users no longer have to remove the battery and cover to pop in a new game. The card slot is now easily accessible on the outside edge of the unit and is protected by a rubber cover.

Our test model came with Ashen, a three-dimensional first-person shooter set in a macabre, supernatural world. Creepy-crawly things were coming at us from all directions and we found ourselves pretty immersed in the game--quite amazing, given that the screen is a little smaller than a business card. Graphics were impressive, too, for such a small device that offers robust battery life (Nokia claims 10 hours of play time on a single charge). Lovers of online multiplayer gaming will like Nokia's N-Gage Arena, which allows gamers to come together on the wireless Internet to compete and cooperate in a variety of online games.

We had some reservations about the number of currently available games for the N-Gage. Many are forthcoming, however, and Nokia has obviously made a serious commitment to improving the platform. The N-Gage QD is a clear and positive sign of what's to come. --Joshua Gunn

LG VX 6000 star performer
Have owned this model over one year.
It is beautifully designed with TWO color displays...a large display when the phone is open and a narrow color display on over when clam shell top is closed.
All functions are intuitive and easy to learn....manuel is well written and easy to use.
Only limitation is that the number of voice activated numbers is too few...about nine...you should be able to buy this at a very favorable price as there is now a new version the VX6100.

Wouldn't recommend
I have this LG phone for a year now, and I have a lot to say about it.

The Pros: Good reception. Easy to hold (not to small like some cell phones are) and has a little bit more weight to it (which I prefer).

The Cons: 2 phones later and they both have a short battery life. They both also shut off in the middleof a conversation ALL the time. The phone will power off for no apparent reason, and it will do so if you go to answer it and pick it up the wrong way. The battery doesn't seem to stay charged for as long as I'd like.

About the Camera: I think it's crap, but it's a cell phone, in my personal opinion, it's not meant to be taking award winning pictures. So neither a pro or a con, just what I'd expect from a camera on a cell phone.

Overall: For all the hassle I have with it shutting down all the time, I wouldn't recommend it.

Good phone, bad software
I just purchased this phone 8 days ago.The phone itself is great.I get a better signal with this phone than I did with my old LG VX10.I love the voice command and driving mode features--they allow me to talk on the phone without risking a car accident because I'm pressing buttons on the phone.The biggest downside is the software.As of the date of this review, the 6100 is on its second software version.However, one big problem remains in that version:the caller id feature does not work properly while roaming.Your phone may display "Call from: no ID" when receiving an incoming call.However, once you answer the phone, the caller ID information shows up.This only happens about 50% of the time: sometimes it works; sometimes it doesn't.I have been told by Verizon technicians that this problem will should be fixed soon in the next software release for the phone. I will be waiting for the new software to come out rather than exchanging the phone.

Over all Im very happy with phone.
I have only had the phone a short time. I upgraded from a LG VX10 but over all Im very happy with the LG VX6000. The phone is simple to use and if you have used LG flip phones before then you want need the manual. I read that alot of people complain about the phones lights turning off while typing, well that aint so because as long as you are typing it keeps the lights on and you can set the inside lights for seconds to minutes to always on. The signal strentgh is good and I live in a mountains region and on a road where people loose reception the LG VX6000 all digital phone still had one bar on this road. Now another copol detail is if your phone keeps loosing reception in areas it will only search for towers every fifteen minutes wich is good to save battery. I had a phone that always searched and a full charge in that area would be dead by end of day without making any calls so I like that. The pictures are real nice and the phone come with some good ring tones but I use normal phone ring. The voice recognitionis awsome, I had a phone where you could only say one name like John but this one you can say John Doe and it repeats it back to you correctly.

Now down sides are that its all digital no analog but Im not complaining because I new this when I bought it but you might not. Also the outside display goes off to save battery but if you want to see the time then I just push the right side button to turn it back on but that is another non important down side. The lights on the numbers when the phone is opened are nice but not that bright and the end and send button are'nt very well lit, now that is a ligit gripe. The camera lens cant be covered and it has no flash but then again if your taking pics in the dark buy a real camera. Another grip I see is that it only holds 20 pics but theres ways around that and if you put more then 20 pics on in two or three days, buy a real camera. Over all this phone is great and Im happy with it so unlike the 6100 wich I had problems with a few days after getting it but then again might have been that one phone but if your looking at this phone then I dont believe you will be unhappy. I would NOT buy this phone again
I purchased the Audiovox PPC4100 a couple of months ago to replace my older Pocket PC phone.I am an experienced user of Pocket PC's both the PDA and Phone Edition.I used the unit in the brief time in which I was able, as my primary communications device during business travel.In other words I really use this, it is not an attractive toy to impress others.

0.The unit broke after 7 months of use.

1.This platform is unstable, unable to work reliably with the latest version of Pocket PC phone edition.
2.The earbud plug is nonstandard and none of your other earbuds will work with this unit.
3.The included earbud sound is weak and hard to hear.
4.The unit does not offer Bluetooth as an alternative
5.The stylus began slipping out of its holster after 3 weeks of use and fell out all the time
6.The battery lasted unit about 2:00 each day when on travel, and sometimes the "battery low" warning would come on at 10:00 am but then run all the rest of the day fine.
7.I had to reboot the unit about 5 - 6 times per day after a couple of months.Then it started rebooting spontaneously.

9. The charge cradle is bulky and you cannot travel with it and travel accessories cost a fortune (to much to pay for an 8 month use life)

11.AT&T and Cingular ran as far away from this device as they could.So here I am left with an Audiovox warranty repair, which is useless.That's like having a warranty on your heart...you just gotta wait 6 weeks while we get around to fixing it....yeah right...that's NOT customer support.That's faking it.

Take AT&T and Cingular's defacto advice and run away from this unit as far as you can.

this is bad
I can't order this phone because the service plans or no good and if you call for help all you get is a run around. The plan for $39 is $85 and you can't change it. This is a trap and make you paid more. I wanted this phone but i can't get it because of the service plan.

Audiovox has terrible customer and technical support
Beware of Audiovox support. They are rude and are very stingy when it comes to the warranty. The charged me for repairs even though I had the phone only three months. The screen is good and the applications are wonderful but the phone is fragile.

Best phone ever made: It has ALL
Have been a regular pocket pc user for last few years. Carrying a pocket pc with a cell phone always made it troublesome for me and thus was looking for a phone which has both the capabilities. And I must say that I have found one !

Audiovox PPC 4100 is the phone of choice. After reading through the reviews, I thought that this phone is not worth buying and has its own hardware problems..but still went to buy this phone and I must say that this was my best decision.

Firstly, I liked the phone size. It is a very sleek phone (of course with Pocket PC capability) and thus fits into the shirt pocket very easily without popping out of the pocket. Screen size is big enough for reading emails, contacts, calander and notes. It is not bulky as my Pocket PC 3600.

Some of the features that I liked about this phone are:

1. Silent mode and ringtone mode
2. Pocket Internet Explorer
3. SD Card
4. Wireless connectivity (Infrared)
5. Stereo headsets

Product manual on the websites said that phone comes with only one stylus..but it came with 2 (which was kind of cool).

Adding a 1GB SD card makes this phone even a substitute for an IPOD (Though this phone may not hold 10,000 songs as IPOD but this is a PHONE...).

This phone is so convenient for use that one can check all emails (I can even connect to my office email server) and thus one can be connected even while travelling.

Amazon.com has $200 rebate on original price of $349.00 which makes this cool tool cost only $149 which is far less for a Pocket PC phone compared to i700 or HP phones. The phone is a tri band GSM phone and thus can be used anywhere in the world.

Phone comes with wonderful Microsoft Mobile OS 2003 which has very nice features. And if you are already a Pocket PC user, you will love this phone.

Works fine as phone & PDA
Two and a half months of use and I've been pretty happy.

Works fine when used as a regular phone (i.e. up to your ear) and the PDA features are very quick to operate, due to the very fast processor.I also really like it's small size, smaller than other PocketPC Phones I've seen out there.It's easily pocketable in a shirt or pants pocket.

Phone reception has been better than average, even internationally.Jotting down a note or opening a file while on the phone is a seamless operation.The PPC4100 comes with a lot of storage capacity and great screen.I've used it to watch videos and listen to music.

On the minus side, I wish it had a louder ring and louder volume in speakerphone mode.Also, I wish it had built in bluetooth and WiFi.But, for the price, it's an excellent value.

It's good, not great
I bought this phone around 5 months ago. So far it works fine as a phone and let's me surf the internet without any problems. However, as a PDA it could be better. The screen has gotten a few dead pixels and the camera just plain sucks. I sync this phone to my powerbook, and I preferred using the mail and calendar programs from apple. That has been a mistake. I keep losing phone numbers and my appointments don't sync correctly. If you choose to use the palm desktop you should not have any problems but if you want to use the programs from other companies....good luck.
Still, it is a pretty good phone pda, and I know that had I chosen to use palm desktop I would not have had any problems, but the reason that I bought this phone and not an ipaq was precisely because its supposed to be compatible with apple computer programs.
If I had a choice now I would have boughta top of the line ipaq and used MS Outlookfor my schedules and emails.

Great phone, but don't use AT&T.Use Sprint PCS!

The New-Age Treo's are the best smart devices ever made! I have used the T-Mobile Sidekick, the AT&T Motorola MPX, a Nextel Blackberry, a Samsung i600, and even an older style Treo in the form of the Treo 300. And out of every smart device I have ever used, the Treo 600 and 650 are 1000 times better then any of them!

1# The Treo's have large color screens with full keyboards, but are still small enough to fit in your pocket.
2# The battery life is insanely long! Both of the new Treo's claim four to five hours talk time, I have found even longer. I often lay in my bed at night surfing the web for hours and hours, and by the time I am ready to go to sleep, my Treo 600 and 650 still have enough battery life to go a few more rounds.
3# Because the Treo's are so popular the prices for accessories, software, add-on's, ect are Much cheaper then those for the other types of smart devices on the market. There is even talk by Palmone to start using Linux as the Palmsource software core, so there will be even more software available. And because Linux is open source, the phones will eventually be cheaper then those running the Microsoft Pocket PC. With the added bonus of the dependability of Linux!
4# Because the Treo's are of the Candy-Bar style design, they are much easier to talk on. Because there is no flip, or antenna to fumble with.
5# There is a software lancher called "ZLauncher" which has many features for your Treo's software interface. One of which allows you to see the exact level of signal strength. By using this tool you can so how much better the Treo's antenna and related components work, compared to any other phone on the market. I get a great signal with Sprint, but with Sprint and my Treo, my service is even better! I get signals with my Treo in places where my Sanyo and LG did not. In fact, I get better signal strength with my Treo, then my friends get with their phones!
6# Palmone has a patent on a new design of smart device that they are working to bring to the market. A design nothing like the designs currently available. A PDA phone that will be thinner and still able to have a large full color screen and keyboard. SO the next generation of Treo's will be even better!

The only downfall to the Palmone Treo's today, is price. That is because they are still new to the PDA phone market. Once they start making more and more phones, the prices will come down. And once they restructure their PDA manufacturing and company purpose in general, the prices will come down. I don't normally write reviews on phones, because I used to be a Die-Hard Motorola phone fan, and I guess still am. But if Palmone keeps making phones this perfect, then I will only buy their phones for the rest of my life! I can not say enough good things about these phones! Try one and see what I am talking about. Use it with Sprint PCS's $10 unlimited Visions access!

I love this thingy!
I bet you can tell that I'm not a REAL techie. I just love cool gadgets. I love my Treo. I received it as a gift with the ATT service attached. I had to go and convert it to accept my T-mobile SIM card but that was easy, and now it works great. It takes better pictures than the Sony Ericsson t610 camera-phone I used to have. And I like that when you sync it the pictures automatically save to your desktop. I don't have to remember to send them to myself and save them.
The phone reception that I get in the Bay Area using T-mobile is actually better with the Treo than with the Sony. That surprised me because I read reviews knocking the reception.
The pda function works great for me as well. I use the Pylon software, and my calendar is in Lotus Notes. I haven't signed up yet for internet access because I'm an internet junkie and I'm afraid of huge bills for surfing all the live-long day.
I only miss one thing from my previous device: the "old phone" ring tone.

If only there were a zero star rating.....
I have been a loyal customer or ATT for years and upgraded from a problem free Nokia 3360 to this flimsy piece of garbage. This is, hands down, the most horrible phone I have ever owned. For starters, the case is made of cheap plastic which would be ok if the inner components were of superior quality, but they are not. In this case, you can definitely judge a book by its cover. If you are going to talk more than 15 min's, have the charger ready because the battery will die. Of course, you will only get to use the charger if the phone LETS you stay connected for 15 min's. For me, the average is 7. Then the phone will either drop the call or the unit itself will just shut down. And keep in mind, the entire time you are talking there is static and calls fade or blank in and out. The phone gets very, very hot while in use, standby time is non-existant and the extremely smudge-friendly display is a constant annoyance. I could go on, but won't. Read the other reviews and make an intelligent decision. Decide against this bug-ridden device.

Worse Phone EVER
I was with Nextel for years and went through many Motorolas with no complaints then I came to ATT and got this phone. Oh my goodness it's SO awful. Every compaint you have ever heard about any cellphone ever... I've expirenced that problem with my phone. I can't be on a phone call for longer than three minutes without the call being dropped, my calls are never clear, I could go on and on... just trust me on this one... this phone=bad

Awful...just awful
Bought 2 of these at top dollar ~1yr ago for me and my wife .. same 'ol story .. dropped calls, poor reception, emergency only status in high reception areas, phone turns off out of the blue, voicemail alerts coming through days after the fact (after a phone reboot), etc, etc, etc.....and "NO" it's not the provider - I've been with AT&T Wireless for over 10 years and have had the original analog Moto flip phones, several different Nokias, and now these - never has it been this bad, even in the old analog and early digital days.Phone has nice features, nice look, color display, slim & lightweight design - it's just a POS.

Worst Telephone I have in my Life
I have more than 10 years using cell phones, This Motorolla phone is by far the worst cell phone I ever have....
1- The reception is terrible, i have friends with AT&T phones next to me, and They have better reception, I changed to a new T721 under warrantyand it's the same....no good reception.
2- The menus...you really need to use the manual, or have a PhD in astrophysics......
I will not give this phone to anyone, not even enemies......please leave this telephone alone.......

good for occasional use
I own this fone for almost 6 months now and I have been using almost pretty rough, its a nice fone with good at&t plans. recommended for college students or anyone who doesnt want to use it all day long. Price on this one is pretty good and best of all no contracts! I agree with the other reviewer saying that this one sure gets you a lot of compliments, good design. Bad phone and service
AT&T recently started promoting this poor-quality phone for its pay as you go plans.The phone is compact and light, but has terrible reception and voice quality.Web reviews also reveal it breaks very easily.My cousin's broke after a week and she had to get a replacement.She could also barely hear on the phone.AT&T's service is really lacking, and coverage is sporadic even in big cities like DC and NY.I personally recommend you check out Virgin Mobile's prepaid plans, which are cheaper and they have much better phones to choose from.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE...DO NOT BUY
This is the third LG 4011 I have had.Everyone one I have had has had to be replaced.LG and ATT will not send me a different model though I have begged and pleaded.THe last time I had a problem with the "new" one they sent me, I read them the numbers on the phone and they said "oh yeah that one is defective"The phone turns off for no reason when you are in the middle of a conversation.WIth my husband being overseas losing a call because your phone just shuts off isn't very ideal.So trust me this is the worst piece of junk phone. ... You may find the volume a bit high out of the box, and it goes into hibernate almost as fast as you can dial a number, but these are minor, adjustable quibbles on a truly stellar phone.

Used simply as a cell phone, the V600 features a five-way navigation key with multiple dedicated function keys for easy menu navigation. Primary calling features include voice dialing, integrated speakerphone, vibrate mode, call timers, redial, missed call indicator, call log, any-key answer, auto-answer, auto-redial, roaming indicator, speed dial, linked (credit card) dialing, phonebook look-up, phonebook scroll, mute control, no-answer transfer, one-touch 911, system select, usage alert, and a phone book of up to 1250 entries, including picture caller ID functionality. When the phone is closed, its external screen (two lines, 96 x 32 pixelss) displays caller ID, date, time, and various status icons, including text message waiting, voice message waiting, battery and signal strength, and voice and message mail. There's even a blue backlight on the secondary display for nighttime viewing.

The V600 sports well-placed, well-machined keys, and its compact size does nothing to hinder dialing even for large-fingered users. The solid scroll keys bring you to very intuitive menus presented nicely on a single screen, marked by functional but showier-than-necessary graphics. There are also dedicated external buttons for speaker volume, voice recording, and ring volume.

Messaging and Internet
The advanced MMS capabilities built in to the V600 enable users to send, edit, forward, and receive image, text, audio, and video messages over the wireless Internet, to and from compatible phones or PCs. (Messages can run up to 100k in size.) You'll also get instant messaging capability, messaging templates, SMS two-way messaging, conventional email, and predictive text assistance. Beyond messaging, the V600's Internet connectivity lets you access online services such as stock quotes, road directions, airline information, entertainment, and more. You can also download Java applications (version CLDC 1.0, MIDP 2.0, 100k per application limit) for which the phone provides 5 MB total (shared) memory. High-speed data transfer and download round out the package. The V600 supports digital TTY/TDD functionality for the hearing impaired.

Organizer
Organizer features include a calendar, calculator with currency converter, date book with event storage, and voice memo. You can also transfer this data to your PC wirelessly via the phone's Bluetooth capability.

We found the V600's appointment scheduling to be right in line with our fairly basic needs. Other than the universal annoyance of pecking out appointment details with the ten-key letter system (there's no QWERTY keyboard here as you'll find on some of the more recent, albeit early-adopter phones) this phone's organizer features provided enough data entry space for any busy person taking these functions seriously, but no more.

Fun and Games
For fun, the V600 sports a built-in 640 x 480 pixels integrated digital camera with zoom and brightness adjustment functions. Pictures taken with the camera can be stored in the phone or sent to others via multimedia messaging. The 5 MB of memory available for storing pictures is also shared with whatever wallpapers, screensavers, ring tones, Java applications, or games you may download from the Internet. The V600 also features 24 chord ring tone capability. Users can assign different tones for different callers in the V600's phonebook, and assign separate tones to denote incoming messages, faxes, and reminders. Wireless multiplayer gaming capabilities and two included games, "Bejeweled" and "Stuntman", round out the entertainment perks that ship with this phone.

Conclusions
We liked this phone's very basic camera. It was easy to use and worry-free and the device can be accessed instantly from the phone's top level screen menu. From power on, it only took us a moment to take and save a fairly nice picture. However, photo quality is only adequate; about as good as you'd expect for a cell phone circa 2004, as opposed to a dedicated digital camera. We also found the ring tones included with the phone to be generally pleasant, and it was a breeze to assign a custom tone to a number in the phonebook, thanks again to the easy menu system. The included games were basic and fairly fun (at least once). In "Stuntman", the phone's vibrate mode provided road rumble as a little car skidded around a bland, full-color stunt course. But player beware! Once the game starts, the volume becomes LOUD and is not apparently adjustable. Finally, there is a nutty little feature called Motomixer, which lets you modify various settings on little songs that you can download, emulating a very rudimentary, miniature studio console.

In all, we found the Motorola V600 to be a rock solid, highly effective cell phone with attractive and efficient graphic and audio capabilities. We recommend the V600 without reservations for any serious user.

Received the first phone in June 2004 and now in May 2005, I am on the fifth phone.Each time a problem has come up (buttons didn't work, display stops working, phone answered the call on its own (while sitting on the desktop), etc.), the service has been tremendously awful (1 hr on the phone) and my only viable option is to receive another refurbished phone.The company tells me the replacements are "reconditioned" and suggested I contact Motorolla.Even after clearly articulating I was dissatified with the quality of the phone and service, my request for a refund and/or different phone at their cost was denied.This company is not customer friendly or interested in maintaining any level of customer service or satisfaction.Add to that poor phone performance and it is a lose-lose scenario.

Don't bother wasting your money...
Now I'm not going to bash this phone. I'm going to give you my honest opinion. Dont get this phone.

Now I dont own it, but my friend does and let me tell you, it's not all it's cracked up to be. Sure, it looks luxerious and beautiful on the outside, but dont let the sleek looks fool you.

The camera quality leaves much to be desired, it takes very low quality pictures, and you dont have the option of caller ID.. and that's the main reason I'd buy a camera phone.. so I could literally see who's calling. Most ringtones sound horrible and washed out when you purchase them. The outer cover of the phone may look nice, but over time it wears down, tiny pieces of plastic fleck off, etc. The browser is old, the download times are much slower than most of today's phones, and it locks up and glitches up all the time. The phone is out of date. When Cingular put it on the market they took it off shortly after.. because it was a dud.

Samsung
This phone is good and bad. I really wished it had Picture Caller ID. Also, after dropping it once, it all started falling apart. The volume adjust arrows don't work, my antenna is chipping away. The games on it are horrible unless you're into flying a spaceship around tying to kill little alien ships. Then you can't even download any games to it. I recommend to not get this phone. I had the X427 before this and it was not that great either. Battery life does not last. I have had the phone for about 5 months and I am on my 3rd battery. The phone often freezes and I sometimes have to end a call by removing the battery. The only good thing is the camera but if this phone had picture caller ID, that would be a great feature. My next phone will not be made by Samsung, I am sure of that.

Cute little phone with little customization
I've had this phone for almost 8 months now. This phone has been pretty good to me. I love the bright little flashing service light. It's bright and cute and you can change it to any color you want. The screen is very bright too, enough to use as an emergency flashlight so you won't stub your toe in the dark.

Since I've had this phone I haven't really had a problem with reception, I've always managed to get good reception with this phone. I even got service where I never used to get service with my previous phones.

You can have groups and customize ringtones for each group but not for each particular contact. I also wish it had a feature to place a photo when a caller is calling you considering it's a camera phone but I have yet to figure out this feature, or if one even exists.

I've dropped my phone once, on concret might I add and it's held up alright. It has a few minor scratches on the face but other than that it's fine. I love this phone, but I'm getting sick of it. It gets old fast.

It only has two games and they're both games that have to do with an airplane which you would think is the same exact game but with minor adjustments.

If you want a phone with a lot to do, this isn't for you.

But if you want a simply phone that's compact and great for calls , it's all yours.

Would've given it a five, but...
I've had this phone for almost 4 months and I love almost everything about it. The only thing I don't like about it is when I talk to people, I can actually hear myself afterwards. People who have this phone might understand what I'm talking about. It's also hard to hear, too. But, I got this nice little blue headset and it makes things clearer. The phone is pretty good if you want to fork over about 50 bucks for a headset. Overall, it's a neat little phone. I don't understand why someone had a problem with the external camera button. The camera doesn't go off if the phone is closed inside your pocket. And the voice memo feature may not remind you when you open the phone, but if you use the text memo feature, it will ring and remind you on the exact time and date you set it to ring.

Worst piece of technology I've ever owned
The user interface of this phone is just awful.I can't believe how it is designed.Most features are completely non-intuitive. The first day I received the phone, I couldn't figure out how to get it to vibrate-mode.I looked in the manual and it referred me to page 29, but it turned out pages 28-32 were MISSING from the manual.I went on-line to find another manual, but page 29 had nothing relevant.I finally figured it out by accident.

Another example: I keep the phone in my pocket; every time I go to take a picture with the phone, it's memory is full.Of what?Of pictures of the inside of my pocket.The external buttons are constantly getting depressed in my pocket and I don't see any way to lock the buttons to prevent this.So I need a belt-mounted case I guess, but I hate things hanging from my belt.

Another example: there is a voice-memo feature which is GREAT to have. However, if you leave yourself a voice memo, you have to REMEMBER that you left yourself a voice memo: there is no indicator on the main panel to remind you.So it's a useless feature for me.

The voice dialing does not work at all; I did all the training and still it cannot find the simplest of names.I say "Ty" and it says, "did you say Bob?" I say "no" it says "did you say Rob?" I say "no" and it gives up.What a joke!I never use it.

Warning: you can take low-quality pix, which is great, but even with the low res, the camera is VERY slow, and you canNOT get
the pix off of the camera without paying Sprint for a special service to do so.And it ain't cheap.So I don't use the camera mostly because the pix have to stay on the camera (I refuse to pay the $5 to transfer them).

There are many many other useability problems... too many to list.

The biggest problem is that the phone book has a serious bug whereby it will crosslist numbers sometimes erasing other numbers.I have a phonebook now where if I change Andrew's work number to 123, it changes my wife's cell number to 123.If I erase one, it erases the other.Then I reenter the number and it changes Bob's home number to 123.It's crazy!I'm a computer science professor and the past owner of 4 diff cell phones... I know how to use technology.This product is simply awful.

Great little phone, would definitely recommend
I personally love everything about this little phone. I was first attracted to it because of it's size and design. It is very small and can fit in the palm of your hand. I also wanted a phone with a camera, which this has, and a good one at that. I have had this phone for about 6 months now, and I am still finding things that I love about it. Everytime I think to myself... I wonder if my phone has this feature... it usually does! I love the voice dialing, the sound is wonderful. I can always hear my ringer, and you have the option of vibrate just in case. All in all, I would say that this is the best cell phone I have ever owned.

Ive had this phone for over 4 months now and have been nothing but delighted with this phone. Good battery life, good sound, the ringers are loud. Cingular is deceptive!
My review is on Cingular.I bought a phone w/service and was told I could return for full refund and only charged for any air time used.THEY LIE.THE PHONE DID NOT WORK IN MY AREA AND I CANCELLED THE NEXT DAY.THEY ARE CHARGING ME FOR ACTIVATION even though it never worked in my area.If you are uncertain you will keep the phone and service, DON'T BUY from Cingular.Amazon will also do nothing to reimburse.

I see others have experienced deception from Cingular too.

Warning - 62650 is discriminated by Amazon!
Unfortunately for the people of Jacksonville, IL 62650 can not order Blackberry 7280 Cingular from Amazon.When I check with availability zip code.It says "Sorry! This product is not available for Jacksonville, IL".However, Blackberry 7280 Cingular is working excellent in Jacksonville, IL 62650. Amazon's discrimination toward people of zip code 62650.Anyway, I sought other business to ordered Blackberry 7280 and I loves it.

Cingular Presents False Advertising
I tried to order the 7280 Blackberry(Cingular) 3 times. Twice for myself and once for my wife(I know she has good credit). Each time I was told the order was cancelled for additional credit information. Upon contacting Cingular I was told that a $49 deposit was required and Amazon could not collect the deposit; therefore the order couldn't be completed. From what I can figure out, Cingular has no intention of honoring this offer. So, give it a shot; but as for me(a ex-longtime Cingular customer) I'd look for other options. Still kicking
Still using the Sidekick color... With the Amazon rebates it was hard not to pass up.I had no reason to "upgrade" to the Sidekick II and I'm still using the I with much satisfaction.
Aside from the painfully slow Web browser, the email and AIM functions alone make the price of the unlimited monthly data service worth the cost to me. The keyboard is fairly easy to use.
My first phone stopped working properly but I found the replacement process from T-Mobile very straight forward and convenient and the tech support very helpful.
The coverage has exceeded my expectations.

HELP - Where find an unlocked item
I would buy this item from Italy, so I need an unlocked item, it means non linked to any USA or ouside provider so I can use it in Italy by my personal SIM CARD.

Great unit, but the potential is underutilized
After a nasty and EXPENSIVE run-in w/ another cell phone company, T-Mobile and the Sidekick (v. II in my case) are a breath of fresh air.Polite service, good to excellent coverage (range), reasonable, prices and there are all sorts of other uses.It's aCell phone, PDA, email server, web brower, text messenger, etc.Also, it is pretty rugged (it would have to be to put up with my chaotic and oftimes clumsy antics).

Why not maximize the muscle this thing has?My only complaint is that the unit is, beyond all the goodies listed above,essentially a wireless modem with a USB port.Why not take full advantage of these qualities / features?
