1-0 out of 5 stars No redeeming value
This is the worst phone ever made! It does nothing well. The reception is awful and it drops calls frequently, the fit and finish is poor (the screen fills with dust obscuring the low rez screen), it only displays 256 colors making it useless for pictures, bluetooth works intermittently, buttons are too small and press themselves too easily in pockets (even with key lock on), joystick broke with light use...

Shall I go on?

Do yourself a favor, avoid all Sony Ericsson products. If this phone is any indication of their commitment to product quality, they need to get out of the business.

1-0 out of 5 stars Nice Features but Not Durable-Poor Reception
I bought the T68i for its advanced features and bluetooth compatibility. I was able to synchronize the phone with my ACT! database and found the phonebook and calendar functions of the phone quite good.

Bluetooth performance was spotty. I needed to re-establish the bluetooth link with headset quite frequently. Sometimes this worked without a hitch other times it took several tries.

Reception on the phone was spotty in some areas where other ATT Next Generation phones had good reception...don't know why this was.

My biggest complaint about this phone was its durability. Through normal wear and tear it just didn't measure up. The earpiece volume button popped off just a couple of months after I got the phone. This was a real problem since there was no other way to easily adjust earpiece volume.

I think ATT had a lot of problems with these phones since they offered free replacements with another model (unfortunately that model did not have bluetooth or many of the other features).

2-0 out of 5 stars After 14 months of use...
After 14 months of use Ill talk about this phone that I still own (and which Im hoping to get rid of once $370 falls out of the sky so I can get the Motorola V600). The size is great because Im a tiny phone person. The color screen is even fairly nice although it's a bit pixely. I like the whole digital phone thing as a screen saver.

But the cons kill me. Ive had two of these phones. First off that little side volume button didn't break off but it no longer works and that happened on both phones. The first phone it just kinda wiggled up and down. It does what it is supposed to do on this phone but it just refuses to work. It worked for about a week and just stopped. When I first had this phone, I had some huge roaming bills cuz it would just randomly jump into cingular. I still get charged for text message roaming sometimes...don't ask me how. Keeping numbers on the SIM card is a hassle because you can't do categories with this phone for the SIM. It has to be MOM Cell, MOM Home, MOM Work etc. whereas if you store them on the phone you can just put MOM and then enter her work, cell, home, email etc. in the different slots. My first phone threw a hissy fit and had a memory malfunction. One day it just decided that it was going to erase 3/4 of my numbers. Basically my phone booked looked like Alan space space space space Cindy space space space space space space Tammy etc. You had no access to the deleted numbers nor could you recover them and a bonehead AT&T operator told me to do memory reset and i lost ALL of my numbers after that. This phone is also prone to shutting itself off within pockets are purses even if the key lock is on. It has the voice dial but it would help if the voice dial rerecognized my voice. i set it up but hardly use it. The ringtones suck and if you're a person who likes to play games (which I don't) those stink too. This phone is a little old and outdated so i say buy something current and more costly and don't waste your $150.

1-0 out of 5 stars The T68i is a terrible phone
I remember when this phone came out. I had to have it. I thought it was the coolest looking phone I had ever seen. After payeing somewhere around $400.00 to get it, I quickly learned of it's poor qualities. First off, the volume control fell off. Read the other reviews, it is a known flaw that is bound to happen. Secondly, the phone is SLOW! When you turn it on it takes about 3 or 4 minutes before you can use it. Storage for pictures is really low and the image quality is crap. The wireless bluetooth works great but I can get that from other phones. The size is nice. I read here that someone sync it up with thier computer so they can use it as a modem??? WOW they are good I have been trying to do that for the past 3 years. I hear they K700 is comming out and it looks like a good phone to replace the T68i. But then I have to remember when the T68i came out and think to myself, "do I really want another headache?"

2-0 out of 5 stars The worst phone I've ever had
One advise - Don't buy it! This is the 3rd time I had to take advantage of the warranty and it takes forever to receive it from Sony. Problems: The volume button on the side fell, the reception is just awful and it's really slow. This happened with all the replacements I got. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Just great!! I love my phone!!
I got this phone over Nokia 3650 after reading all reviews (some negative, most positive). I just love this phone!! Its sleek, compact and packed with features.
Pros:
----
1) Great looks, small size.
2) Powerful battery, needs charging once in 3-4 days.
3) Bluetooth and Infrared work like a charm.
4) WAP support is neat to have.
5) Tons of downloads from the web - themes, ringtones, games etc.
6) Great reception - no problems with T-Mobile service. Never drops a call.
7) Organizer is a good feature.
8) Screen resolution of 64K makes a lot of difference - it shows!!

Cons:
----
1) Camera resolution is not good.
2) Need to keep wiping the screen, since its black when sleeping and shows anything deposited on it immediately.

Overall comments:
----------------
I would recommend this phone over any Nokia phone any day! Its a piece of art. SonyEricsson has done a great job of not only designing this phone, but also packing it with so many cool features. Go for it!!!!!!!!!

2-0 out of 5 stars Nice features, ZERO RELIABILITY!
Well, I've read everyone else's reviews and I must agree that this little phone is really feature-packed. Great color screen, bluetooth, good reception, decent camera, user-friendly enough for me. BUT... The reliability is absolutely HORRIBLE!! I've owned the phone now for 4.5 months and I'm TIRED of all the freezing up!! It is so frustrating! I consider myself to be a very patient person, and if my phone had not locked up PERMANENTLY I would probably still be using it (and tolerating its freezing problems) today. Unfortunately it froze on me a few days ago and no matter what I try -- removing the battery, removing the battery and SIM card, praying, voodoo, etc -- nothing helps. I haven't tried the hard restart since it would wipe out my entire Contacts list. Instead I called T-Mobile and they will be replacing it with a phone "of equal or greater value". Of course there's no guarantee that the new phone will work with the $80 Jabra FreeSpeak that came (free) with the phone! Get the Nokia 3650 instead -- it's a very nice phone (though kinda big) and is recommended by Leo Laporte (the Tech Guy).

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't Bother With This Phone - Zero Stars!
I was in the market for a new cell phone, preferably with a new provider. After reading positive and negative reviews of this phone, I was finally swayed into purchasing this phone due to the hefty rebates offered at Amazon.

After about 6 hours out of the box (four of those hours charging), the phone's operating system locked up, and the screen is now blacked out (probably permanently). The phone only responds with a pleasant chime as it starts up, but sadly, nothing else.

I sincerely thought that some of the negative reviews for this product were from purchasers with gripes against the manufacturer or service provider. At worst, maybe these bad reviews were isolated incidents, and I could beat the odds. However, in the end, I must sadly concede and admit that this is a terrible product and should be avoided at all costs. Hopefully, Amazon will allow me to exchange this for a different model and manufacturer.

4-0 out of 5 stars Personalized, easy to use.
I had this phone for more than a week and explored almost all of its features except for voice command and text messaging. I think it is a good phone to have. Very personalized and simple to use once you are familiar with the features. I guess a lot of people are more interested in knowing the bad things before getting into the good ones. So I will start with the Cons.

Cons

•Poor alarm setting options. Although it has recurring alarms, T610 only allows you to set one alarm. If you want an alarm to go off at 7:20 and another one at 7:45, you will not be able to do that with T610. Go for Samsung phones if you need more alarm options.
•There's no key you can press that will bring you back to the default starting screen. When you finished adding contacts and you want to go back to the default starting screen, you will have to constantly press the "back" key and go one level at a time. I found that very annoying.
•Entering contacts information takes some time because the engineers designed some unnecessary steps in adding/modifying contacts. For example, when the "Home Phone" field is highlighted, you can not key in the number right away. You'll still have to click the "Add" key to bring up the next screen for entering information.
•Small number display. They could have made the numbers bigger when you are dialing or receiving a call. The numbers are hard to see when you are using your phone outdoors during day time.

Pros

•Good sound quality. I'm not talking about reception here. With full signal strength, T610 gives you a smoother and milder voice than my old Nokia 3560, which makes you feel like you are talking to a robot.
•Good display resolution.
•Nice personal settings such as wallpapers, themes and screensavers.
•Easy file transfer using Bluetooth or Infrared. I use my computers to download free ring tones, themes and pictures from the internet (www.myt610.net) and then use Infrared to transfer them to my T610. I was surprised to find how easy it is. Once the Infrared port is enabled in BIOS, the computer will automatically detect T610 within a certain range and pops up the file transfer dialogue window and you can start transferring. If you use T610 to download files from the Internet directly, you will have to pay $4.99 per month. (You might need to get some support for your computer for "enabling Infrared" if the Infrared port is not enabled by default.)
•Good "Shortcut" features.
•Good call management solutions. Call lists are integrated. You can view dialed numbers, received calls and missed calls all in one screen. The phone uses arrows in different shapes and colors to help you distinguish if it is a missed call or a received call. The highlighted number will toggle between phone number and call time automatically and save you several clicks.
•Easy to grab. I have dropped my Nokia 3560 numerous times. But the surface material and the inward-curving side panels of T610 makes it easy to grab.

By the way, T-Mobile has good signal performance in St Louis area.

1-0 out of 5 stars Far from the perfect phone, OR the perfect service.
Six months ago I bought 5 of these phones and took out a family plan for which I am paying $100+/month. In my family we have found the T610 to be less than an ideal cell phone. The most serious problem is its poor reception. Put this phone side-by-side with a Nokia and the Nokia will pull in a signal when the T610 will not. The color screen is nice, until you try and use it in sunlight - simply put, you can't! The screen appears totally black in sunlight and is completely unusable. I'll stop complaining about the phone right here, because those are the two big issues.

T-Mobile's coverage is patchy at best. Even in a region with "excellent coverage" like mine, there are a significant number of pockets with low or no reception. Sadly, one of those pockets just happens to be my home. We have three phones here and can't use them. I rang T-Mobile and told them this. They assured me they would investigate and contact me again within 36 hours - they didn't. One week later I got a postcard in the mail telling me how great the reception in my area was... just in case I thought otherwise. I have complained about this but I don't expect a positive outcome.

The T-Mobile plans are also troublesome. They give you a WAP-enabled (web browsing) phone, they tell you that your plan has WAP access, then they don't allow you to use WAP. The only site you can access is the T-Mobile site telling you to pay more money for WAP access. This has upset a lot of customers but T-Mobile's attitude has been "OK, then sue us!". Some customers are doing just that.

So the bottom line is that there are better cell phones out there, and T-Mobile as a service has issues that need to be weighed in any buying decision. My advice is to be very careful before jumping on this, or indeed any other cell phone deal. Ask you friends and colleagues how happy they are with their cell phone plans. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Don't underestimate this phone
i bought this phone few months ago. its great. but wat it lacks is good text spacin. but its good 2 text on it. wat it also lacks is name 4 its ring tones like for ex the names 4 tha ring tones r tone 1 tone 20 stuff like dat. i also like this phone blc it is very colorful. most phones have a clear back light but this phone has a colorful blue back light. this phone also has a blinkin service light. this phone can also be put on vib mode like most phones. this phone also contains aol instant messanger so if u can't use ur computer just use ur samsung r225. i hope u guys go out and buy this phone. so just cause its little dont underestimate this phone.

2-0 out of 5 stars decent phone, horrendous design
If your finances dictate that you absolutely need a free phone, then this should serve. It has good battery life and strong reception. But everything else about it is awful!

It uses a special type of headset jack so you can't get a new headset -- and the one it ships with is uncomfortable and low-quality. It's hardly hands-free when I have to constantly use one hand to keep the earbud from falling out of my ear!

The keypad design makes the buttons difficult to press -- I need both hands to type on it.

Instead of several configurable ring-sets, you have only two options: ring and vibrate.

Every ring tone that comes with the phone is absurd, and set in the highest ear-splitting frequencies. It has a ring tone composer, but due to what seems like a bug you can't insert consecutive rests -- necessary if you want to mimic the "beep once" feature that nearly every other phone offers.

There's no way to turn the phone on without it making a loud beeping noise -- a definite problem if you ever need to send messages from classes or meetings

When you unlock the phone, it freezes for a second or two before you can type anything. There's also no autolock feature, and it's _extremely_ easy to press buttons accidentally while it's in your pocket.

Not one day goes by when some feature of this phone doesn't cause me annoyance. The interface on my first cell phone, back in '99, was better than this. I feel like I've been scammed.

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent phone
I got this phone when my I dropped my motorolla v66 in the river! This is a great phone for people who live in areas where the tMobile signal is weak (like me in Ann Arbor, MI). I love this phone. I could not speak from home before with my v66, but that has changed now. The sound quality is unbelievable. Very very crisp and clear, even with 1 line of the signal.

The ring tone is nice and low profile. The blue back light is cool. The address book is good. The vibrate tone is a bit motor like, but is liveable. It is as small as a flip phone but is ergonomic. The number buttons are out and accessible, unlike models where they are embedded in the phone. The only features I use (and want in a phone) is good sound quality even when the phone shows 1 line of signal, the organizer and scheduler, the calendar and the phone book. I am extemely happy with my choice on all these counts. Of course the price is the best!

4-0 out of 5 stars It does the job
I've had my phone for over a year and haven't had any mechanical issues to date. My only complaint would be poor reception in certain areas, but I'm not sure if that can be attributed to the phone or the network.
I've been very satisfied with T-Mobile (especially the service!) and I'm very hesitant to try another carrier. If not for the reception, I'd give it a ten. It does all you'd want a basic phone to do!

4-0 out of 5 stars Simply Brilliant!
This is a good little phone. I got it for a penny at Car Toys and everyone in my family has this phone because they love it so much. It has normal cell phone features, a bright backlight, and a service indicator light that can change colors. It may be a simple, inexpensive phone, but it sure works well. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars dissatisfied customer
I bought 2 of these phones in december 2003. My plan was 39.99 a month on each phone, unlimited nights and weekends, free holidays. Since this time they no longer have this plan nor these phones, however i liked the phones so much that in march of this year i bought another phone and plan for myself, the other two are used by other family members. I pay about 150$ a month for all of these plans. However this memorial day I was charged all day on all phones for their usage. AT&T told me on monday the 31st of may that memorial day was included to be free however on wednesday the 2nd of june i called customer service and they told me that i was MISINFORMED by their rep. I have a brochure stating that memorial day is included in this past plan that no longer exists however they have without informing me changed my plan to satisfy theirs now. I will NEVER again get AT&T anything. BUYERS BEWARE. they stole from me and have also received now a bad reputation. And one more thing.. I have been an excellent customer..always paid my bills to them on the date they were due and used my phones discretley as possible.Like I say they receive at least $150 to possibly 200 dollars a month from me because we have always liked the phones and they have worked for us. I think they owe us money for memorial day and an apology. I will continue to spread this around so they will continue to lose customers. THEY ARE WRONG.

3-0 out of 5 stars who has bought this products , please give me some advice
If you have used this phone ( Nokia 3590), would you please let me know if it is really good, if there is some problem, does dealer charge you for sending it back to factory? do they give you some spare phone to use when it is in repair ? I hope you need not repair it for at least 2 years ( my contract is 2 year ),

I've heard this phone described as a great first-time-phone. That sums it up better than I could.

Not an overwhemling amount of features, but it does have a calculator, calendar, alarm, three games, and an address book with more spots for entries than I could ever need. The battery life is great and I haven't had any horrible interference yet. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome!!
I just bought this phone and man am I happy so far!! This phone rocks!! After a little bit of difficulty syncing (I tried using my old user name) but samsung tech support was AWESOME and AVAILABLE!!! They were great!! Synced up great. I had been dying for something like this that had the PDA and cell phone combined...along with analog and digital coverage.

I do agree with some of the postings about the phone not "opening" up enough....I don't understand that. But anything is a step up from my AT&T v60i...man...what a piece of junk..dropped calls....really hard to use...not intuitive at all...I had gone from a startac..(which I LOVED) to the v60i...what a mistake!!

Anyways---I LOVE my i500.....the only time I had to read the manual was in installing the software and doing my first sync with my Palm Desktop.----I have read in these postings that this is also OS X compatible.....Since I'm a huge Mac user...that is manna from heaven for me!! Although I havent tried to sync this with my G5 yet....so, we'll see.

This phone is intuitve...easy to see and understand...not a huge learning curve...great features....no stupid cameras or mp3 players...nothing you don't need...never be late for another appointment again...never forget your schedule again...never fumble for another phone number or address again....

I'm a returning Sprint customer, my wife and I were customers about 3 years ago and the coverage was really spotty, especially when we would go out to the barn to see our horses....they've apparently improved thier network substantially..so we'll see...

OKAY...A FOLLOW UP FOR ALL OF YOU MAC USERS OUT THERE....YES THIS PHONE SYNCS BEAUTIFULLY WITH PALM 4.1 DESKTOP SOFTWARE!!!!! YEEEEE---HHAAWWWW!!!!

Two hints: Turn the phone OFF!!! and trash the "photos" conduit.....(what do you need it for anyway..really).

This baby now syncs PERFECTLY with OS 9 & OS X!!!! I have a PEECEE at my office and bought another hot sync cradle from samsung to have for my Mac(s) at home so my wife can keep track of my schedule....MAJOR kudos to Samsung for coming out with a remarkable phone, I havent (yet) experienced any of the problems that I've read about here.

So there you have it. Macintosh & PC compatibility & Palm OS.....in a SMOKIN' phone!!!!!

2-0 out of 5 stars Too many problems
I recently moved back to the east coast and into sprint coverage. Having carried a PDA and phone for many years, I promised myself that when the time came for a new phone, I'd get a PDA/phone. After reading the reviews, I decided on the i500. I really liked the size and design (more like a phone than a PDA) but was disappointed and ended up returning it after a week. I had used a PALM before but most recently have been using an IPAQ with Pocket PC. It was hard to go back. It took me awhile to sync the i500 with my computer. The Palm software is an older version and I found the syncing not nearly as intuitive as working with my IPAQ. Also, the phone itself wasn't very powerful and I had to go outside to get and hold a signal. (The replacment phone works inside very well). I could've put up with the above problems but the final flaw was an inability to sync at work. My work computers have the newer version of PALM already installed and would not allow me to remove it. This caused the newer version to compete with the older version that came with the phone. I was able to load the older Palm OS with the help of a system administrator but was only able to successfully sync once. Also the computer (both at home and work) had difficulties recognizing the USB cable. I had to install and uninstall the driver several times. After spending hours trying to get this thing to work, I went back to my IPAQ and exchanged the i500 for a non-PDA phone.

5-0 out of 5 stars everything I ever wanted in a phone pda
Just got it a week ago.
Ever since we are inseperable.
I bought more expensive gizmos in the past but never did I get attached to something this quick.

It does everything I want very well. I need all my addresses in oneplace synced to My Yahoo, all my calender with alarms, my expenses and my to do list.

It has call forward by sprint when Iam in areas where there is no reception or I should not answer the phone like the hosp. It is my pager also. Of course I would have liked to see who is calling on the cover but so be it. but it doesnt matter cause I would have answered anyway, so I set it up so when I flip the lid open the phone answers.

I dont need a silly camera or blue tooth (what ever it is) to make me happy . This phone can be used by serious people for business with absolute reliability because of the second battery which I change everymorning as well as crystal clear reception. So If you have to be always availbale on the phone for business reasons This is the phone for you.
To me this is best thing after sliced bread

4-0 out of 5 stars The Truth is:
Take what ya want from these reviews...but don't make the mistake of assuming half of them are worth a dime, makes me wonder if some of ya'll even own the phone...whatever.

That said, You can't go wrong with this phone. You can't go wrong with a Treo 600 either, I own both. I don't really think you can compare the two, they are totally different concepts and given apples to apples, one will always dominate the area you set out to compare. IE: I'm still waiting on that *5 star* phone that DOES smoke 'em all, it's not out there...yet. (the i550 due out in Jan 05 might get there)

Anyhow, i500 Pros: 98 voice dial tags, Flip design (I like the way the flip opens, keeps it off my cheek so the screen doesn't get all greasy), Size (same size as my wife's Star Tac), Voice memo/converstion record, Screen clearly visable in direct sunlight! (try that with your Treo 600), Unlimited battery power, Quality of build, Tri-band w/analog roam, 3G internet speed, Loud Loud Loud ringer and earpiece (earpiece is loud enough to use as speakerphone and I can hear the ringer while I'm riding my motorcycle!)

Cons: It has 'em like everything else, read about 'em in other reviews.

If ya need a phone with a PDA get a i500, if ya want a PDA with a built-in phone, get a Treo 600, if ya want a perfect combo, wait about 6 months...They are getting real close now.

5-0 out of 5 stars Size Matters
There are a lot of so called smartphones out on the market and without doubt this is in the top two. The pro to this particular model s really size. Size matters. I have used both this and the Treo 600 (which is typically mentioned when you talk about this phone) The beauty of the Samsung is the flip and graffiti funtions. The Treo has neither. But the Treo does have a nice navigation button and a qwerty thumbboard(a little small for my tastes), a camera, and expansion slot. Which can be used to hold additional data and applications. While these might sound like a lot I dont have much use for many of them. Especially the camera. Its terrible. I beleve that both devices serve their puposes very well. But if you are looking for a PDA/smartphone with the compact size and functionality of a normal cellphone you might want the Samsung. P.S. I believe that Samsung will be releasing a new version of this phone later this year that will be even better. Might be worth the wait. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Unnecessarily complex!
I was really excited about getting this phone especially since I'm not happy using a flip phone.Sadly, trying to figure out this phone is almost impossible.Common things like Address Book seem to be buried under several layers of menu. It's weirdly complex to try and figure out how to work it.In addition, it shut itself off in the middle of calls.I'm returning mine.

4-0 out of 5 stars A- performance but complicated
I have use so many cel phone brands. LG is the best so far. This siemens phone has all features you can imagine. However, the built-in speaker isn't lond enough. There are also some operating difficulties as well. I have to carry the manual around in the first week. Usually, with other brands, you can just play with the phone and go from there. For example, when using speed dial, firstly you have to push 5 and hold, the speed dial list shows up, then push the speed dial number you assigned. Unfortunately, the manual which comes in its box isn't the most recently released. [...] It's just complicated to look in Siemens website and find the CT66 manual because it's already discontinued.enjoy... ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Great phone, Great features, but ...
I bought this phone two weeks ago. It is very nice as a phone - compact, light, with enough volume in the headset so I can hear it with the car top down (but not at 80 mph!). The keyboard is logical and lightly backlit. All the set up and control functions can be accessed at the press of a button.

It has lots of really nice features. The 1.8" screen is bright and colorful, with good resolution. It has a built in camera which takes fairly good pictures which you can use as your screen's background. You can also e-mail and upload the pictures if you pay for the service. The battery lasts forever. The phone has PCS web access. You can also download games and programs to make the phone more functional. It has a built in calculator. You can use it as a modem if you purchase a USB cable and software (which Sprint no longer provides). You can upload the pictures to Sprint's web cite and then e-mail them. The pictures you take or d/l can be displayed as four to a screen thumbnails.

So, what's the catch? "Sprint" charges for everything. And the contract is for two years. You can upload pictures, backgrounds, ringers and software from your computer -- if you buy for the cable and software, which Sprint no longer supplies, but I can't find software to d/l my pictures directly to the computer. (The cable and software can be purchased separately, but not together! There are three sets of software -- again each sold separately!) If you want access to your pictures, you have to upload them to Sprint's web cite, and then download. Sprint charges for this service. I bought a USB cable to try to use the phone as a modem. I used it for a very short period, and had my phone turned off the next day because I ran up a bill of $80.00. In some ways, it is kind of offensive. At least they reversed the charge because I had two months free trial!

4-0 out of 5 stars Very good phone
Have used this phone for nearly a year. Excellent battery life, lots of features, I find the menus very easy to use and the overall quality to be very good. Have dropped it a few times, but it still works fine.

Can't understand all the negative reviews. Voice quality is good, Cmaera is so-so, but it's a phone, not a camera. I agree the the web service is slow, but again, it's a phone...And it does work. No, there are no fancy ringers for free, but I can tell when I get a call. I'd buy another!

2-0 out of 5 stars don't buy this phone
This is the second phone that I have owned. I don't like my phone. Here's why:
-When I answer the phone, I have to wait about 1-2 seconds before I can talk or else the other person does not hear me.
-The sound is too loud. I tried to turn down the volume to the lowest, but it is still too loud.
-The whole hinge broke after about 8 months. I have trouble opening and closing the phone.

2-0 out of 5 stars Phone and Service are bad
ok, i bought this phone in may and i already hate it. The reception is good but thats about it. The menus on this phone are very confusing and it only comes with one wallpaper:flowers. Now i am a boy and i dont want flowers on my phone.I dont like how it is so hard to open either, and its really ugly. The Keys are poorly backlit and pre-loaeded ringtones sound like they were made for old people. And the music ringtones sound awful and they are distorted. I am going with t-mobile and thier motorola v300 as soon as i get my money back for this peice. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good Phone
This is an ok phone, but needs to have more ringtones available, with a louder setting for use in noisy areas. I signed up for the Family Talk plan through Cingular, and so far it's been ok. I do have some issues with Cingular's customer service though. In short, it stinks!(unless you're lucky enough to talk to someone who actually knows what they're doing). Overall, the phone itself serves its purpose pretty well. One more thing...I tried to speak to the manufacturer (Motorola) about some of the features--bad idea. I was connected to someone in ARGENTINA!! Of course he was unable to help me. SO, it was back to Cingular. No real issues with the phone except the ringtones and the volume.

5-0 out of 5 stars OKay
This is a good phone, no joke. I've been with Cingular for ages and completely love their service. I must say thought that while the Nokia is much more unattractive, I did recieve better reception on it. I love this phone though! The reception is ok. But all the other features are completely incredible. Battery life is great. I charged my phone on Sunday and it lasted me until Wendnesday. The phone looks classy and professional. And the blue display screen is nice as well. I like the internal display screen as well (very colorful and crisp).
This is the best camera phone on the market for this price. The resolution ROCKS!! And the phone has a bunch of storage.
My favorite features are the MP3 ringtones and the picture caller ID!! Over all I love the phone! If I gotjust a little better reception it would be perfect.

5-0 out of 5 stars business manager
great cellular. photos are pretty good and signal easy to manages

1-0 out of 5 stars BE AWARE!!! The service plan is untrustworthy
The phone is great, but order the service through Amazon is terrible. I had a similar experience in which Amazon contacted me via email and explained that more info was needed to process the application...., just like the other two reviewers, although the email from Amazon indicated that they had automatically canceled the order due to insufficient information. They DID NOT refund my money to my credit card. I have contacted Amazon but gotten no response yet....

Be aware to order the service through Amazon, you might end up giving ALL your information through internet for a credit check but get hassle in return.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Phone
This phone has been nothing but great to me. It provides good connection, up-to-date internet access, and cool downloads and features. The camera isnt bad and the quality of sound when it rings is clear. The phone is easy to understand and easy to use. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Why Blackberry when you can Nokia 6820?
This phone can do it all! You can check your home, corporate, & M-mode e-mail. The bluetooth connectivity is incredible. The camera isn't exactly a megapixel, but who cares? This is a cell phone. Wireless internet is truly high speed if you have EDGE capability. It isn't as fast as DSL, but it certainly beats dialup.

The best feature is the full qwerty keyboard. It takes a little time to get used to, but after a few minutes you will wonder how you got along without it. It is so easy to check and reply to e-mail messages that it almost makes the Blackberry obsolete. The only thing that a Blackberry has is the push e-mail. If you don't need the message immediately go with this phone. It certainly puts all others to shame. Nokia certainly put some time and effort into this phone. All I can say is that they did it all right.

5-0 out of 5 stars Everything I Need
This phone, an upgrade from my Nokia 6800, has everything the 6800 was lacking: Bluetooth, better web browser, smarter interface, and a camera. The key difference between the 6800 and the 6820 is that the 6800 has an FM radio where the 6820 has the camera. Also, the 6820 is smaller & lighter than the 6800. My favorite feature is still the full QWERTY keyboard; I'll never go back to the old triple-tap keys for text again.

This phone is the perfect bridge between a regular mobile phone, and a PDA/PDA phone. Helpful "get organized" features consist of a calendar, note pad, voice recorder, alarm clock, wallet, and to-do list. You have great flexibility in choosing which features to assign to a quick "go to" button, and the items can include features, profiles, and even web site addresses.

Overall, I am 100% satisfied with this phone and feel that it is well worth the price. If you are a PC user, you can use the Nokia PC suite application to sync your computer & phone. If you are a Mac user (like me), the 6820 is not yet supported by iSync. However, you can transmit files via Bluetooth and can send Address Book cards to the phone, also via Bluetooth.

1-0 out of 5 stars NO AT&T
AT&T has the worst customer service ever. Do not buy from them you will regret it. The phone is good but at&t is horrible. Expect unwanted charges on your bill.

1-0 out of 5 stars would love to have it but Amazon has become a mess and...
can't deliver the goods. After ordering, I received a notice from Amazon that I had to call AT&T to complete the credit process. When I called the number provided, AT&T told me that they had no record of the order and gave me Amazon's number - her supervisor had informed her that she was not to waste any time on Amazon customers. So after spending a considerable amount of time trying to work with Amazon people, I'm now told that they are standing by their original message. WHAT A BUNCH OF IDI0TS! how do they run a biz like this? It would have been nice if they could actually fullfil the order...

1-0 out of 5 stars Amazon is great.. phone is great, just say away from AT&T
WARNING: AT&T representatives ("Dawn: R361" and "Max: N360") themselves said during my troubleshooting (as detailed below) that I should NOT have bought through Amazon, and that they have received a barrage of complaints from Amazon buyers! I still really like Amazon, but they're integration with AT&T is non existent. People should not have to wait 2-3 days for service after they receive the phone. 4-0 out of 5 stars Very Pleased With The Nokia PM 6225
I just bought this phone about 3 weeks ago. My previous phone was an LG flip phone that I was really unhappy with. The only flaw I've noticed is the camera doesn't seem to be as good as those on the flip phones and the pictures seem to be blury. Also I haven't been able to find any cute faceplates yet...

I get clear reception, good service, and an awesome $10/mo plan which includes unlimited Text messages and unlimited PCS Vision usage.

So, i would highly recommend this phone. It's small, light-weight, and a fun phone to play with.

4-0 out of 5 stars Overall Nice Phone With a Few Flaws
I got the Nokia PM-6225 phone about a month ago and I have generally been very pleased with it. This phone is PCS Vision Enabled, which means it can take advantage of all the online features that Sprint offers for a 15 dollar fee per month. This includes downloading games, ringtones, applications, and screensavers which all cost extra money. It also includes web access, email, and text messaging. This phone also comes with a digital camera, though the resolution is poor as camera phones go. You can take pictures using the phone and send them in an email to anyone with a computer or a camera phone. The games look great on the 128x128 pixel display, though the keypad can feel a bit cramped. You can only access the web about 60 percent of the times you try, but this can be blamed on the Sprint service, not the phone and may be different in places other than New York. When you do gain access it runs pretty well and takes about 5 seconds to load each page which is good for a mobile phone. The reception is clear most of the time, and voices usually sound good though they can get staticky occassionally. The phone comes with a speakerphone feature that works pretty well although people on the other line have told me that my voice appears distant at times. The phone also gives you the ability to listen to FM radio, though this requires an extra 30 dollars to buy the antennae/headset. The reasons this phone did not receive five stars were:
-Fairly low quality on digital pictures.

-The power button is on the top of the phone and does not stick out so it is hard to turn the phone on/off.
-You cannot gain access to the web a good portion of the time.
-The keypad can feel cramped while playing games.
-The screen can be hard to read in bright sunlight.
Overall the Nokia PM-6225 is a great option for the Sprint customer who wants a cheap, PCS enabled camera phone, and I would recommend it. (The Nokia 6200 for ATandT is essentially the same phone without the camera feature.)

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice little phone, weak battery life
I've had this phone for about 3 weeks now, and have been pretty happy with it. My previous phone was a Motorola Timeport (Startac-style) flip-phone, which I was very happy with.
As for the Nokia 6225...
Pros:
-good size...not too small
-good reception
-speakerphone works acceptably (for hands free operation when needed; people on the other end report a bit of static/echo, which is to be expected from a speakerphone on a device this small)
-camera is a gratuitous but neat feature (be aware that Picture Mail will cost you extra if you intend to use the camera)
-lots of features (calendar, voice recorder, speakerphone, camera, web, contacts, voice dial, FM radio [only with the special headphones which double as an antenna, though],etc) which might come in handy
-no attenna jutting out from a corner

Cons:
-weak battery life...Two hours of talk time is Nokia optimism. Whereas I could go a few days with my old phone with normal use (a few calls per day), this one needs to be recharged every day or after a longish phone call (an hour) and it doesn't give much warning before shutting itself off. Consider getting an extra battery or the car charger or an extra charger for work, etc.
-stupid ring tones. Why can't they provide simple ringers? You've got to go online to find them and then buy them if you want some normal ringers. (This is a minor gripe.)
-While inactive (when not in use or after a little bit of inactivity [such as a long pause when loading a picture or typing a message]), the backlight on the screen turns off and the screen is virtually invisible. I'm not sure if this "sleep" time might be adjustable.
-small keys with no space between them. I find that I press the keys with my fingernails because a fingertip might press multiple keys. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Greatest sound and Coverage in a Cell Phone
I love this phone. It is sturdy, won't break or come apart if dropped, is very feature rich for the business or home user.
I never have experienced an inability to get service even in the remote mountains of Colorado, and the fields of Kansas and Texas when I travel. Crystal clear reception, when my friends newer, next generation phones don't work, I hand them mine.
Excdellent!

5-0 out of 5 stars Hardy, feature laden, best battery life, hold tons of info!
I am a traveling sales guy that covers much of the western US. I need the TDMA coverage this phone provides. I bought this phone 1 year ago, and have found it to be hard as nails, as well very feature rich. Lots of names, lots of voice activated dials, OUTSTANDING battery life is it's best feature! I lost this phone two weeks ago and pulled the old one I replaced out for short term - NO COMPARISON. The battery died mid day. I miss my 6360. Great phone for the hard core business traveler. I used the travel alarm, and tracked cell, home, office, e-mail addresses, fax #'s (all arranged by contact name - which is great), and sent e-mails from this phone. I'm trying to find someone who will sell me one (cheap) without having to sign up for a service! I'm month to month now and like it that way...

5-0 out of 5 stars Great cell phone with extras, best I've ever owned
This is my fourth cell phone.... from a bag phone six
years ago, to a Nokia from 3 years ago which still works
but doesn't keep much charge to a Motorola V60, which kept
breaking and after my third I let the contract run out...
this keeps the charge for days, has good reception, clear
sound, nice features if you don't expect it to be a computer
or a Pocket PC.... (both of which I also have)... vibrating
function works great, as do the settings from Outdoors to Normal
to Silent to Meeting, or program your own.... terrific!

5-0 out of 5 stars It's Just What I Needed
I am required to carry a cellphone for work, but I don't travel or make many calls. This cellphone does everything I need it to do, and it holds its charge a long time. My previous cellphone never held a charge beyond 36 hours or so, but this one can go up to 5 days, depending upon usage. Very user-friendly. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Outstanding Music Player & Overall Good Phone
I swapped out a Motorola MPx200 (which I fried) for a Nokia 3300 initially because of the low price compared to other phones with similar features. You do get a lot of "bang for the buck" with this phone.

The selling point on the 3300 is the music player. It plays MP3 files and "raw" (not MPEG-4 encoded) AAC files. Because it does not support the MPEG-4 compression, you're better of with using MP3, as the raw AAC files at the same bitrate are acutally larger in size with no noticeable difference in quality. The music player is among the best I've listened to (it actually has some BASS output) with the provided stereo headset; you can also listen to it with the single-ear (mono) earpiece and the player knows the difference and switches from stereo to mono accordingly. You can also listen to either the music player or FM radio using the loudspeaker on the phone, but to listen to the FM radio you still have to keep the headset connected, as it utilizes the headset wire as an FM antenna. I have encountered an issue where the music player will arbitrarily change tracks, or the FM radio will spontaneously kick over to another station preset, but it could be from accidental keypresses on the case that I have the phone in.

This phone also includes a recorder and a special audio cable (3.5mm standard plug on both ends) for connecting an external CD player or other equipment to record from to the MMC card (64MB) supplied with the phone. The phone records 64Kbps, 32KHz "raw" AAC format (64MB = about 2 hours of audio), which is fine if you are recording from the radio or voice but not the greatest if flawless quality is your preference from your CDs. The Nokia Audio Manager 3.1 software supplied with the phone is clunky and stalls frequently; I highly recommend using RealPlayer 10 with the Nokia Mobile Device plug-in (which also handles conversion to MP3 for you); RealOne Player with the plug-in is also included on the CD that comes with the phone. If you have a separate MMC reader, you can read the cards in that rather than in the phone to speed up transfers.

The phone itself is a decent quality phone, as with most Nokia handsets. However, if you don't want to look like a space alien talking on it, you'll find yourself using the earpiece almost always (otherwise, you hold the narrow back side of the phone to your face to talk; which looks tacky and feels awkward). The full keyboard on the US "B" model is excellent for text messaging and e-mail--*IF* you have light to see it with (only the call, hang-up, and directional buttons light up, which means you can't see the numbers or keyboard in the dark--major issue if you have to communicate in less-than-ideal lighting; keep a little mini flashlight with you).

The 3300 supports Java MIDP 1.0, which is wonderful. Most of the apps I used most frequently on my MPx200 I have found suitable Java alternatives for (MyCast Weather, Virca IRC client, EmailViewer e-mail client, and MapQuest Mobile for real-time directions are among some of the apps I use often). The built-in e-mail client is adequate, but forces you to download entire messages instead of just headers to see what you *really* want to read (downloading full messages can consume your GPRS bandwidth in a hurry if your e-mail box is big), so I use ReqWireless E-Mail viewer, which doesn't have that disadvantage.

Like all Series 40 Nokias, the Calendar is very basic with limited capability, but the Contacts database is robust. Which brings up another major issue with this phone: lack of PC Suite support. The data cable supplied with the phone only interfaces with the MMC card in the phone and not with the phone's interface itself, so if you need to synchronize via cable or use your cell phone as a modem, you'll be SOL on this device. It only supports synchronization over-the-air using SyncML with a SyncML-compliant server (again, a bandwidth hog if your contacts/calendar db is huge); Nexthaus does make a SyncML server to sync with Outlook, but any calendar items not supported by the 3300 get skipped so your calendar is always incomplete (Contacts come through great though).

Lastly, you would think that with this phone supporting the MMC card format that it would also support SecureDigital (SD). It does not, and MMC cards are becoming increasingly difficult to find as more vendors make the move to SD cards. The phone comes with a 64MB card, which is sufficient for most people, but if you like more than an hour's worth of MP3s, you'll want to look for a 128MB or 256MB MMC card. I will give it this much: there is a feature to backup and restore your phone's settings to/from the MMC card, which is a smart feature to use in case your phone should be accidentally reset.

Overall, I do enjoy this phone, especially the awesome music player and the java support.

1-0 out of 5 stars THIS PHONE IS NOT GREAT! IT'S GARBAGE
Save your money and look into a phone that's easier to use than this one. I initially liked this phone for its odd shape and exciting features, but now I regret my purchase altogether. I have Cingular, and the service has been pretty good. That's not the problem, but I realized that Nokia is second to Motorola when it comes to quality. I like the FM radio & MP3 features, but they come with massive flaws. You can't play the radio without the headsets in the phone which is bulky and annoying. I love listening the radio on my cell, and if you do too, then look into a phone that has radio hands-free headsets. If Nokia were to improve this phone and re-release it like they do with weak music cd's, then it would do better on the market. THE WORST PROBLEM I HAVE is with the keypad. I love the keypad, but I hate it! Full QWERTY keypad but it does not light up nor does it even glow in the dark. Don't even think you'll memorize the keys because you won't trust me! False advertising with the Express on Cases. Nokia said they would void my warranty if I were to change cases.
So, ladies and gentlemen, don't end up like me!!! I have two more years left in this contract and I hate this phone. I do get a lot of looks with it... but only if they knew how much I wished I had the ... Motorola V600...

1-0 out of 5 stars Horrible service from AT&T
The phone is great but AT&T has to be the worst cell phone provider ever. There network has so many dead spots its not funny and not small ones either. I got better signal when i was roaming so what ever you do do not get at&t is a big disapointment!

5-0 out of 5 stars ONE OF THE BEST PHONES EVER!
When I decided to buy my very first phone I wanted to get the best one I could buy. Looks and capabilities were a key factor in deciding which one. I was about to get a samsung but at cingular they try to sell you nokias because they have better reception. I picked the 3300 because it was an mp3 player, radio, cool design, and because I saw that alicia keys used one in one of her music videos. I have had it since January and ir hasn't failed me yet. One thing I would change is that they would sell holsters for it at cingular and interchangable plates. Other than that I highly recommend it. Put if you want something really small don't get it.
