Phone very unreliable
Phone has excellent features but has bad reception.Just after a month (right after the store exchange policy expired) the charger is not working.Some loose connection may be. I read somewhere else that others are having similar issues. It is frustating to have your cellphone breakdown because of the charger issue.How can I recommend this to anyone with this kind of issues ?

Unreliable PDA phone
I am now on my THIRD Treo 600.The first two were replaced because the phone would turn itself off and back on again, go out of service when calls were being made or received, and losing my programmed data.My third treo is only a week old and is dropping calls constantly.I have been happy with the phone when it works, but, reliability is a serious problem.Verizon Wireless has been no help either other than in replacing the phone under warranty which takes no less than 2 hours of my time and two days to ship.Battery life is less than expected and I'm usually recharging the phone by late afternoon.Another annoying feature is the low battery warning that must be cleared from the screen if you're trying to dial in codes to check voice mail or other dtmf services.It will interrupt you every 10 seconds.Also, the person on the other end can hear your low battery tones, voice mail notifications, etc.Annoying.

Better than I thought it would be
I got my Treo 600 (on Sprint) from my work. I always preferred the flip phones to these lareg PDA phones so my first thought was, "Well I can't complain... it's free". However the more I used the phone the more and more I found it to be a really good little device.

First off it might be large, but it's actually a good deal thinner than most phones I've used. Thinking the large size would be a problem in my pocket I first tried the phone on one of those horizontal belt clips. Kept the phone out of my pocket, but the clip itself was rather bulky so I took a chance at just pocketing the phone. The slim design fit better in my pocket than any of the cell phones I've used before, which actually surprised me. It fits in my hand rather well too.

The keypad took a little getting used to... like maybe a day or two. Once you get a feel for the little keys everything actually makes sense in the design. Also the large screen it touch sensitive to so technically you don't even need to use the keypad unless you are writing in contacts or something. The navigational buttons along with the hot buttons make it easy to get to contacts on the phone, emails, the camera functions, and more.

As a phone it's neither better nor worse for me than any of the better cell phones I previously used. I live in Houston and only a few occasions have I not gotten a signal. I suppose the speaker could be a bit more powerful, but I can see some tradeoffs here for the sake of the design. The speakerphone function has become really usefull in the car or when I need my hands free. Battery life seems pretty good. I only need to charge the phone maybe once a week with regular use.

I don't have too much use for the PDA functions aside from getting work email. I have found that a game of solitaire does kill the time when having to wait around for stuff like getting an oil change and what have you. I have found some uses for basic things like the calculator and calender, but aside from that most of the extra function stay unused.

I have made good use of the vga camera though. I never expected high quality megapixel images so the image quality actually was better than I thought it would be. I wouldn't make photo prints out of the pictures I take from this thing, but for email and such it's fine. The camera has been extra useful during those moments you wish you had a camera for since I always carry my phone around. The amount of memory on the phone is enough to store over 400 snapshots. That's pretty cool.

You can surf the web on this thing, however I wouldn't recommend it. The connectivity is rather slow and takes me back to the old 14Kbps modem days. Still it's better than nothing if you need to get a quick map/directions or movie times. The email on the other hand is fast. The phone connects to the company Exchange server so maybe that has something to do with it.

The phone is pretty sturdy. More than once the phone fell five feet onto the concrete and didn't so much as flinch on the inside. The chrome looking parts on the outside however are prone to scratching. Looks like even having keys in the same pocket as an unprotected Treo can leave minor scratches over a period of time.

I don't know what else to say. When I first got the phone I didn't think I would like it. An hour later I find that I really like it. Lots of functionality in a slim package.

Very Poor Signal Strength
The Treo 650 I bought is ALWAYS two to three bars below other phones (at the same location) in signal strength. Sprint has been totally unhelpful in this regard saying they can find nothing wrong with the unit.

I would reccommend against the Treo 650 unless one is sure, very sure, they will never be in any but the strongest signal areas.

Sprint support has been a joke, except that I am not laughing.

The most perfect smart device I have ever used!!!
The New-Age Treo's are the best smart devices ever made! I have used the T-Mobile Sidekick, the AT&T Motorola MPX, a Nextel Blackberry, a Samsung i600, and even an older style Treo in the form of the Treo 300. And out of every smart device I have ever used, the Treo 600 and 650 are 1000 times better then any of them!

1# The Treo's have large color screens with full keyboards, but are still small enough to fit in your pocket.
2# The battery life is insanely long! Both of the new Treo's claim four to five hours talk time, I have found even longer. I often lay in my bed at night surfing the web for hours and hours, and by the time I am ready to go to sleep, my Treo 600 and 650 still have enough battery life to go a few more rounds.
3# Because the Treo's are so popular the prices for accessories, software, add-on's, ect are Much cheaper then those for the other types of smart devices on the market. There is even talk by Palmone to start using Linux as the Palmsource software core, so there will be even more software available. And because Linux is open source, the phones will eventually be cheaper then those running the Microsoft Pocket PC. With the added bonus of the dependability of Linux!
4# Because the Treo's are of the Candy-Bar style design, they are much easier to talk on. Because there is no flip, or antenna to fumble with.
5# There is a software lancher called "ZLauncher" which has many features for your Treo's software interface. One of which allows you to see the exact level of signal strength. By using this tool you can so how much better the Treo's antenna and related components work, compared to any other phone on the market. I get a great signal with Sprint, but with Sprint and my Treo, my service is even better! I get signals with my Treo in places where my Sanyo and LG did not. In fact, I get better signal strength with my Treo, then my friends get with their phones!
6# Palmone has a patent on a new design of smart device that they are working to bring to the market. A design nothing like the designs currently available. A PDA phone that will be thinner and still able to have a large full color screen and keyboard. SO the next generation of Treo's will be even better!

The only downfall to the Palmone Treo's today, is price. That is because they are still new to the PDA phone market. Once they start making more and more phones, the prices will come down. And once they restructure their PDA manufacturing and company purpose in general, the prices will come down. I don't normally write reviews on phones, because I used to be a Die-Hard Motorola phone fan, and I guess still am. But if Palmone keeps making phones this perfect, then I will only buy their phones for the rest of my life! I can not say enough good things about these phones! Good, but not Great phone
I don't know what the guy before me is talking about with this phone...I have had NO calling problems whatsoever.I sold cell phones for years, and usually it is USER error, not the phone.This phone is far from being bad.I have had the occasional dropped call, but that is usually not the phone.Call quality is good, but not great.The phone can do a lot, my main complaint is that you can't customize the menus like you can on some other phones.I have gotten good battery life and like the ringtones you can download.Time will tell, but overall I like this phone.

Worst phone I ever owned
I don't know, and maybe it's just me, but this is the worst cell phone that I have ever owned. I waited several months for this model to come out. I should have waited a few more weeks to read reviews written by consumers.

First of all, this phone does everything. It's like the Swiss Army Knife of phones. Unfortunately, the main purpose that it was designed for, BEING A PHONE, it does poorly.

This phone is 100% digital. And wow, can you tell! This would be the perfect phone for Jacques Cousteau. Yes, you guessed it, half the time people sound like they are underwater. They should sell this phone at Dive Shops, right next to the flippers and air tanks. Worse still, entire words and parts thereof simply fail to be transmitted and received properly. This makes it almost impossible to carry on any kind of conversation without having to repeat entire sentences. Half the time you are trying to piece together what you heard with what you think the other person actually said. It's like doing a crossword puzzle! Oh, and forget about checking your voicemail. It seems that the sound quality of recorded phone messages just doesn't carry well and are especially difficult to understand.

When I walked into the Verizon store, I asked the salesperson about the phone. He claimed that it was the best phone in the store. He said that it did everything and that it did everything well. Well, he was half right. I first purchased this phone a little over two months ago and I've had to have it replaced three times already! If that wasn't bad enough, the leather carrying case that I bought was also defective and broke within 30 days. And don't let me forget about the defective battery that came with the first replacement phone.

Verizon won't refund my money and instead insists on giving me replacement phones until the problem goes away. I'm tempted to disconnect this phone and reactivate my old LG. Now that was a great phone!

Buyer beware. I'd wait until the bugs are worked out of this one.

Just another cell phone...
The reasons people are giving for not liking this phone are all problems that seem to be with the provider not the phone (service in certain areas etc)! The phone is a bit larger than other phones on the market but has great battery life. While the flip around screen is cool, it is annoying after a while to have to keep flipping and such. It would be such a better phone if it had a caller ID window on the other side in addition. The camera does what it is supposed to do i suppose.. let's face it: it's a camera phone, not a nikon. All and all it's just another cell phone in my humble opinion... just a matter of personal preference. It does everything it is supposed to do. I have had no problems with it.

Be prepared to get it fixed a lot
I have had major problems with the one screw holding the flip together withe the rest of the phone.It loosens up and your flip is no longer stable you have to go get that screw tightened or do it yourself.If for some reason you don't get it tightened in a timely manner the the ribbon cable will get damaged and your phone will break in one fashion or another.I am on the third of this phone.First one lost audio, second lost the screen.Verizon refuses to do anything about my dissatisfation with this phone.They will just keep replacing this one.I have had one nice manager say he would let me void the last year of my contract so that I could buy a new phone and sign a new contract with him.Not biting.I have been with Verizon 8 years but, I am going to go to Verizon corporate, and if they can also do nothing for me I am finishing out my contract and going to another company.All this over one phone.

Fun Phone
I love this phone. I live in an area that is essentially a blackhole for wireless service & I can usually get at least 1 or 2 bars.Service inside the 'big box' type stores is hideous, though.
The specific reason I chose this phone is the photo caller ID which I have found emmensely helpful & fun to play with. I find it much easier to look at a picture rather than trying to read the name & number.My only difficulty so far has been sending pix messages, but that may just be me & not the phone. The battery lasts a long time & finding my way around the phone was a fairly simple process given my track record with electronics.

2 Cute!!
I have had this phone for about 6 weeks now and I think it's great! The only thing I don't like is that you have to actually flip the phone open to see who's calling. It's small enough to fit in your pocket and you don't even know it's there! This is a nice lil' phone if you are looking for the basics.

Good Phone, Worst Company Around
Let me first state that I do not work for any mobile provider and have used them all. Sprint is about the worst company on the face of the planet. Do not under any circumstances support this company in any way. I've reported them to the BBB for their shady practices.
They constantly "lose" payments and when they decide to penalize you its in the middle of the month. They just turn your service off! No warnings, no emails, SMS to your phone or calls. You just try to make a call and it puts you through to 611 collections. I originally purchased a phone from sprint for their DATA service and wanted a voice account as well. The sales person didn't think twice of taking my money and then telling me that they couldn't suport that on my account. Whats worse is they tried to penalize me for early termination!! (They even have a published policy about letting you try their service for 30 days.) When I tried toreturn the devices they refused to take them back! (After 2 days)
I had to spend a week calling them and forcing my way up the chain to talk to anyone that knew anything. It took reporting them to the BBB and writing letters to the PUC to get them to not charge me the $200 early term fee.
Sprint is by FAR the worst company out there and the PUC/FCC should shut them down for illegal business practices! Please learn from my mistakes! Go to another provider.

Sprint is so very evil. Please don't support them. They have horrible customer service, their phones are terrible. The reception stinks, they break easily and sprint will overcharge you. Good phone, bad service.
I've had this phone for about four months now and I have mixed thoughts about it. Often times when I'm talking, it'll automatically lose signal which is pretty annoying. Also, my phone seems to be roaming in places where other cell-phones that use the Sprint service don't. I actually compared it with other Sprint phones that my friends have and those ones get service easily but it takes a while for mine to find service, and when it does, it's usually roaming. My second biggest problem is that the phone gets hot extremely quickly. Usually after 5 minutes of talking, you can feel it getting warm and that really bothersome and also unsafe. As many others before me have mentioned, the lack of caller-ID on the exterior of the cell-phone is a negative especially when you are at school or at work and someone calls you, it would have been a lot easier to see who it was that called. The number pad is awesome, easy to text message but what good is that when half the time, the message wouldn't get send because there is no service? The battery life is also pretty crappy, I have to charge it every night and I don't talk on it that much so I expected it to last longer than it does right now. The games are all demos but I don't really care, it's not an important feature to me. I've dropped this phone several times (by accident, mind you) and it's still as good as new. I like the simplicity of it, the size is also very nice. I can't even feel it in my pocket when I carry it around. The color screen is very good. The alarm clock is very useful, and the voice dialing feature is awesome and I use it all the time. This Samsung phone itself is pretty nice, but the Sprint service that comes along with it is not. We found the V600's appointment scheduling to be right in line with our fairly basic needs. Other than the universal annoyance of pecking out appointment details with the ten-key letter system (there's no QWERTY keyboard here as you'll find on some of the more recent, albeit early-adopter phones) this phone's organizer features provided enough data entry space for any busy person taking these functions seriously, but no more.

Fun and Games
For fun, the V600 sports a built-in 640 x 480 pixel integrated digital camera with zoom and brightness adjustment functions. Pictures taken with the camera can be stored in the phone or sent to others via multimedia messaging. The 5 MB of memory available for storing pictures is also shared with whatever wallpapers, screensavers, ring tones, Java applications, or games you may download from the Internet. The V600 also features 24 chord ring tone capability. Users can assign different tones for different callers in the V600's phonebook, and assign separate tones to denote incoming messages, faxes, and reminders. Conclusions
We liked this phone's very basic camera. It was easy to use and worry-free (nothing's going to break off), and the device can be accessed instantly from the phone's top level screen menu. From power on, it only took us a moment to take and save a fairly nice picture. However, photo quality is only adequate; about as good as you'd expect for a cell phone circa 2004, as opposed to a dedicated digital camera. We also found the ring tones included with the phone to be generally pleasant, and it was a breeze to assign a custom tone to a number in the phonebook, thanks again to the easy menu system. The included games were basic and fairly fun (at least once). In "Stuntman", the phone's vibrate mode provided road rumble as a little car skidded around a bland, full-color stunt course. But player beware! Once the game starts, the volume goes LOUD and is not apparently adjustable. Finally, there is a nutty little feature called Motomixer, which lets you modify various settings on lit! tle songs that you can download, emulating a very rudimentary, miniature studio console.

In all, we found the Motorola V600 to be a rock solid, highly effective cell phone, with attractive and efficient graphic and audio capabilities. We recommend the V600 without reservations for any serious user.

Okay phone

Must be an AT&T/Cingular thing...
Recently having a huge issue unlocking the AT&T networked Motorola MPx220 SmartPhone I bought on Ebay, I started to research my other phone, the Motorola V600. Happening upon this site was very interesting because I've never had a problem with my V600 and had no idea it had such a bad rap! I had a faulty battery that was replaced, but nothing with the phone or it's features since I bought it new 6 months ago. I'm a T-Mobile customer and bought the V600 thru them in Jan 05. I would say this is by far the best Motorola phone I've ever owned (out of many). The only thing I would change is its weight. Compared to other camera phones out there, it's one of the heavier ones.

I agree that user error plays it's part on some of the issues I read about, but after the ordeal I went through with the AT&T networked MPx220, I'd say we should all be happy AT&T is no longer. The experience reminds me of why I bought out my contract with them 4 years ago and have been a T-Mobile customer ever since!

Totally Junk
I bought this phone 6 months back. It got great features, looks good except wait. First 2 months worked well. After that some times outside display not working properly, I continue using it like that for next 2 months, then called customer service. They promptly replaced it with reconditioned phone. The new phone not working from day 1, other side people can listen to me but i can't listen to them. Replaced it with another phone, that worked for a week or so, and after that it is not even turning on. I walked in to the Cingular store and they told me they can't do any thing as it is AT&T phone. And they advised me not to get V600 phone again as it is giving lot of problems to other people too. Now I am waiting for my next phone.

Great Features, Great Phone!
I'm really surprised by all of the negative feedback being left for this phone. The Motorola v600 has a TON of features which I won't bother listing -- but most importantly, it has Bluetooth! When combined with the HS-810 Bluetooth headset, the v600 is a dream come true! Bluetooth also allows me to sync up my phone book with my Outlook! It's lightweight and compact, and has external buttons for changing ring styles, recording voice notes, and the like. I live in the Philadelphia area, and have no problems with dropped calls or signal strength. I also travel quite a bit throughout Europe, and the v600 has found a signal on a network even on the side of a mountain in Poland. I hate to say it, but after reading most of the prior reviews, it seems like "user error" is mostly responsible for the problems listed. For example, the gentleman who said that he hates the mMode button being on the upper right -- you can configure the functions for these buttons in "Personalize" under "Settings"! Lastly, the v600 is great for hacking. I loaded the UK-spec v620 Flex onto my phone, and it's been nothing but great. (This Flex even features a built-in email client, so I can send and receive email right on the handset!) I've also run the AT&T OOB Flex, and a private Motorola Engineering Flex, and none have failed me! In conclusion, the v600 is a great phone for the cost, with almost every feature imaginable. This is the phone you want!

Best phone I've ever used!
I have been using V66 for 2 years. It has been the best phone I have ever had.Although I have just received a new V188 I am still using V66.I have not had any problems with this phone. It is small for pocket and easy to operate. It also has a nice loud tone which is a bliss in crowded areas.

Outstanding workhorse
I have owned this phone for over 2 years. It has taken every kind of abuse I can imagine, including being dropped and kicked 30 yards down a concrete Chicago subway platform. This is not a fragile cell phone.

I have large fingers, and have never had a problem with the size of the dialpad. I have never mistakenly dialed a wrong number. I have never jumped out of a menu by hitting the wrong button.

This is not the phone to own for bells and whistles. If you primarily use your cell phone to talk, this is an excellent choice. I charge my phone perhaps every 4 days and have never had to replace the battery.

I have consistently been surprised by the resilience of this phone and would not hesitate to recommend it to someone looking for a solid, single-use cell phone.

worst phone ever - almost
This phone is almost the worst phone I have ever owned.It _is_ small,and thats its only saving grace.The simcard cover pops off regularly on both phones ive had, the hinge is flimsy and has already caused me to replace the phone once.The mic stopped working after 8 months, and reception was horrible when i used the phone open, so I had to start using it with the earpiece exclusively.That broke after another month, forcing me to get a complete replacement.Battery life headed south starting around the six month mark.

never use sprint again
This review has nothing to do with this phone. I am very unhappy about their service.
1. You have to pre pay for a month of service and they are rude enough to refuse to prorate you last month service. You are definitely going to be ripped off on average of half month of your service fee. (about $45 for me, could be more)
2. Their coverage is bad. Constantly drop signals. I came to a sprint shop, they said I need to upgrade my software. After that things are not improving ...

Ups and downs, overall great economical PDA/cell
The keyboard format is awesome, because I can't stand graffiti.My cover has never broken, but I would advise anyone to purchase a case for this phone.The battery isn't easily replaced, but a little googling and you'll find websites that sell replacement batteries for $25 and include instructions for installation.It's not rocket science, trust me.Otherwise, some people get their undies in a twist over the lack of voice-dialing, but I don't mind.I just use the shortcut keys for the speed dial option.It's not a great driving phone.If you're a commuter cell-phone chatterbox, this is not your phone.If you're a professional or a student with PDA experience, a little patience, and a budget, this would be perfect for you.Don't buy it new...MAJOR RIPOFF.Get it used here or on ebay.

It is a prototype not a real consumer product
This phone is a great concept but a terrible implementation. I've owned this phone since it first came out. First, the cover breaks so easily that I had it replaced three times before my insurance provider canceld my insurance. I'll qualify this with saying that I'm an above avarage careful person and have never broken a phone before. The cover is a well documnetd issue in other reviews but this is only the least of my dislikes. For instance, the battery is built in and after a couple of months of use the average battery life goes down to about 20 minutes of talk... I do not believe that this phone is allowed to be sold as a $450 real phone and not a prototype?
I hope the Treo 600 has gone through some phenominal improvements to rise up to an acceptable level.
I've owned a Keyocera 6500 5 years ago and I loved the intelligence and careful thoughts that were put into that thing so early on in the PDA evolution days. If I have to guess, their newer PDA phones must be way better, although I have not owned it myself. I've also heard that the Samsung i500 is a hot product.

Crashes on occassion, but otherwise a solid phone.
Ok, I got this phone when it first came out in late 2004. The only problem that I've had with it is that it likes to crash (and crash hard) on average, once a month. When I say hard its terriable. All internal memory is lost and the memory card is wiped clean. Since I have prior experience and use of Nokia phones for the past 8 yrs, Once a week I back up my phone on mypc. This saves a lot of heartache. It seems the problem is most prevelent when you take the phone from a cold environment (50 deg or less) to a warm one (work). The Phone will lock up after a call and then ask to save data press start (there is no start key) or data will be lost. You can do one of two things. Turn the power of then on (usually results in loss of all data ) or take the battery out and put it back in (75% this saves your data). I'm pc savy so as long as I back the phone up every week I'm ok. The less tech savy will be upset , esp after typing in 300 contacts and loosing them and the 200 pics you took in the last month. I contacted Nokia and they said they would need the phone for a month. At that time I could not be without it with no loaner so I've worked around the problem. Also of note, I purchased the phone from ATT (now cingular) in 2004 dec and the have told me twice they didn't recieve my correct rebate information for 100 bucks. The rebate dept is the worst ever! I hate em. In 8-10 weeks i might get a rebate if lucky. The transisition from ATT to Cingular has not been smooth!

This is a Phone for Geeks not for "Regular" Users
I just finished reading through the 17 or so reviews here of the Nokia 6620 and I had to laugh at some of them. The 6620 is the first Series 60 phone that Nokia has released here in the United States. What does Series 60 mean? Well, in short it means that it comes with an operating system on the phone...much like you have Windows on your computer. This means a couple of things. One, you are going to have software conflicts at some point...especially with the first Series 60 phone to hit the US. If you want a phone that is going to work 100% (or close to it) of the time with no hiccups do NOT buy this phone..get the 6230 it is a great phone (I have one as well).The other thing is that THERE ARE GOING TO BE SOFTWARE PROBLEMS. Did you hear me the first time? I am not on Nokia's side here, I think every phone released should work flawlessly and this one comes pretty close. I have had mine for about 2 months now and I really like it, even though there are a number of issues I have with it at this point. I will start with the bad.

First, the speakerphone is a joke. It really is. It gets about as loud as a whispering mouse at full throttle. Nokia...seriously, this has always been a major problem for you guys. Fix it already. Two, the buttons are located pretty low on the phone chasis and it makes for an awkward hold for people with big hands like me. This is due to the large screen on here and to be honest, it is worth having the low keys. The screen does 800x600 resolution at 65k colors. My first two laptops didn't do that. Third, there are some issues with turning Bluetooth on and off sometimes, but now I just know to "reboot" it and in a minute it is all sorted out. Lastly, the voice recognition is not so hot. I am still trying to figure out the best way to name people so that my voice dialing will work 95% of the time.

Now for the good stuff. The FREE Nokia sync software, available on their website, is great. I walk into my home or office and my phone will sync with my Outlook automatically....wirelessly via Bluetooth. How cool is that? Pretty darn cool if you ask me. That is how it should be.I have a Motorola HS810 Bluetooth headset and it works flawlessly with the 6620 and it is a great headset..get one.The camera is pretty nice. I don't care much for the whole camera in the phone thing, but it takes pretty nice pictures and video with sound @ 3MegaPixels. The joystick navigation is great. It is intuitive for those of us who use computers all day. You can program the stick and the two standby buttons to whatever function you want and that is great too. And, the real reason us geeks want this phone is the ability to run different applications and such. There are some good ones out there and I am waiting until some really useful ones hit the market. I put an FTP client on there the other day and I was downloading MP3 from my ftp server when I was at lunch one day. Pretty cool stuff. You can put 128MB MMC memory cards in there and they are super cheap.

So, to wrap up my ranting, the phone is great if you are a tech geek or a serious power user who wants to have a Bluetooth phone with some serious power. Plus, it has EDGE so when Cingular/ATT get their act together and get their GPRS/EDGE data network in gear this baby will be able to send and receive data up to 115Kbps. Oh yeah, and you can use it as a mobile internet gateway for your laptop (aka wireless modem) via bluetooth. Easy to do and I have used it many times already.

Good for new-fangled media gimmicks, mediocre as phone
I hoped I would get a good old trusty Nokia phone, simple, reliable, with a quick response to key input, and a straightforward menu structure and user interface.

Mistake. Since it is Symbian-based, you would not recognize it as a Nokia phone save for the logo.

Others have pointed out the positives, so let me concentrate on the negatives.
- Takes about 45 seconds to boot up (switch on to splash screen after PIN entry)
- Sluggish in responding to key strokes. If screen saver is active, needs an extra key press to wake up. So, if you want to lock it, press "Menu"-"*" and it's locked - unless the screen saver was active, then it would eat the "Menu" and just display "*". So you need to constantly look at the screen to see what it recognized and what not. Similarly, if you unlock, it will swallow the first keystrokes after that. So you unlock, enter a number quickly, and then realize that the first digit is missing.
- Complicated. Needs 28 keystrokes/joystick pushes to set the alarm. Woohoo. Has this great feature "Go To" that enables you to customize/collect often used commands, but very few applications implement it, the alarm does not. (I know that I could probably save some keystrokes by rearranging the menus somehow, but I want a phone, not a computer.)
- Crashes occasionally. Ok, not daily, but more often than a phone should.
- Weak battery life. Short warning. I found myself with empty battery more often with this phone than any other I have had.
- Nag-ware. Comes with some software that you can use twice, then have to pay around 10$. Some of the software is very badly written - eg. there was one app on it that required that you enter your name or zipcode or so prior to using it. I tried figuring out how, pressed a few keys, and the app quit. Tried again, app quit. Tried again, was greeted by "Your 2 trials are over. Do you want to buy this wonderful app for $10?". Guess what, no. This is a silly example, but indicative of the care that seems to have gone into fine-tuning the user experience.
- Recently, vibrating alarm just stopped working in silent mode (it was turned on). Missed 7 calls. Just not acceptable in my opinion. Worked again after reboot.
- Synchronization with iSync does not work.
- When you browse your contacts and press a letter, say "t", it lists everyone whose first _or_ last name starts with "t". Makes browsing for someone quite a bit slower (unless you don't know the full name of a contact -matter of taste, I guess, I don't like it.)
- Now you've browsed to someone, you press the green "call" key to call. It will display all phone numbers associated with that person, "mobile", "Tel. (home)", "Tel. (work)", etc. But guess what - the tag is truncated, and it displays only "Tel. (...", "Tel. (..."! So you don't know which number is which, and have to go to the contact, look at the numbers, remember the last digits, and then call.
- When alarm goes off, sometimes there is "Snooze" displayed on the right soft-key, sometimes there isn't. Pressing the red "Hang up" key puts it into snooze mode, not off.

There are lots of other little nuisances. All in all, the impression it left on me was that it was full of gimmicky features that are mostly useless to me, at the expense of being slow, buggy, inconsistent, and sloppily implemented.

Nextels best basic phone
I have had this phone for about 3 months, and it is a pretty basic phone.It is very durable, I have dropped it too many times to count, and it only has a scratched screen so far.You have to pay Nextel if you want to add applications, ringtones, or even the speakerphone, but if you have the knowledge and a piece of software called Motorola RSS, you can edit the phones codeplug and unlock the speakerphone, or use WebJAL to add ringtones and apps.

I had one of these for over a year, until I finally lost it.Great phone, never gave me so much as a moment's trouble in all that time.No, it doesn't have a camera or a color screen or games, but if all you're looking for is a basic, no frills phone, look no further.Calls were crystal clear, Nextel has very good service, at least in Philadelphia.Also, like almost all Nextel phones, this thing is a tank.I dropped it more times than I could count, at least twice down a flight of stairs, and it never got so much as a scratch on it.All in all this phone is an excellent choice for a first time cell phone user, or for that rare breed of person who just wants to use their cellphone to make PHONE CALLS.

Bad Product
I got this phone for a back up and it's not even good for that.VERY cheap plastic, creaks like an old wooden floor.The DC speaker has loose parts in it so when I am in a DC conversation there's so much rattling it makes it hard to hear. The Charger port has a cheap rubber flap covering it that won't stay shut.There's a horrible tick sound in the background on all my calls that I have never experienced before.The battery lasts me a day if I don't use the phone, with minimal use I find it dying long before the end of the business day.I'm very glad my i710 is on it's way because this thing is just junk.You definitely get less than what you pay for with this item.Many of my friends have left Nextel because of the poor product Motorola is putting out for them.This phone is no exception.

Motorola i205 Phone (Nextel)
The 1205 model Nextel cell phone is one of the best cell phones that I have had in a long time. It has great coverage and mobility. I have gone days without recharging it.The reason why the battery might run low early is because of many phone calls being made from that cell phone. When you take the phone off the charger and the flap won't close use your finger nail and close the upper corners into the phone and once both corners are into the phone press over the whole flap with your finger. If you have a non-Motorola phone cover on you i205 it is going to be twice as hard but go around all the corners of the flap and im sure you'll get it to stay. Other advantages to the i205 are that you can get many non-motorola accessories from other companies such as: phone covers, colored and flashing key pads, flashing antennas and holsters and cases. The Nokia 6800 is simply a phone made for text input. The basic looking phone hides a full QWERTY keyboard (though obviously with smaller keys than you're used to) under the numeric keypad. Just flip it up and turn the device 90¼ to use the keyboard. Its unique design is only featured on the 6800 series and offers the largest full keyboard of any consumer level mobile phone in the US. The only problem with the keyboard is that because it's quite wide, it's hard to handle with one hand. If you want to jot a text message while walking, you'll have better luck by using predictive text on the numerical keypad. While sitting down, or stationary, the keyboard is very hard to beat.

It's hard to beat the Nokia 6800 keyboard's ease of use.

Besides the hidden keyboard, features of the Nokia 6800 include:

Even though the Nokia 6800 is made for text, it does a great job at voice. Call quality is excellent and dropped calls should be few and far between. When the keyboard is flipped out it makes using the joystick slightly awkward, since it's to the side of the screen.

The Nokia 6800 ties in very easily with your existing email account and it even supports IMAP which is email technology that keeps email in sync across multiple devices (your phone and computer for instance). It doesn't have fully push email like a BlackBerry, but you can set email to be automatically checked at short intervals. Text and data plans from T-Mobile USA are some of the most affordable in the industry, which is a good thing since you will find yourself using these services a lot.

Excellent basic flip phone
My primary concern is the quality of my voice on the other end of the call. This phone's as close to land-line quality as I've ever heard from a cell phone. Most people don't even realize I'm on a cell. The voice quality at my end is OK, but unremarkable. The KX1 SoHo is a little smaller than most and the display is also a little small but the resolution and brightness are both very good. Signal strength is good, at one point on my ferry commute, when I see other people give up on a call, I have 3 bars. Battery life seems as good claimed, 1 week stand-by and 2 1/2 hours talk. This is a tiny phone; it fits in a pocket very well. The sound quality is great, and people can hear me well. The "Shorty" is a great little phone (with the exception of the screen--it's difficult to read the time of day display). I particularly like the loudspeaker feature, which enables me to put the phone down next to me while driving and hear and be heard well.It's easy to navigate through all the features, although it might be more difficult for someone with bigger fingers; I use my thumbnail to push the buttons.Easy to find out my balance, too.I just use the phone for making and receiving calls and not for the downloadable features and games, so I haven't tried all those.The existing ringtones are I suspect aimed at a younger crowd--they sound kind of hip hop.They also sound kind of tinny.But, as I said, I'm using it mainly for a low-use phone; so this didn't discourage me.

What did discourage me was the one little problem:My particular phone has a little problem of powering off on its own without warning every few days--even with a full battery charge. So I'm walking around with a phone that is not on thinking I can receive emergency calls when actually I can't, because it has spontaneously turned itself off. Nothing I do gets it to turn back on.It is just dead. I figured out I just remove the battery and put it back in (which the trouble shooting page on the nokiausa website confirmed), and this enables me to turn it back on. I find this unacceptable in a phone and am returning it. Virgin Mobile customer service was kind and polite and offered to give me a new "Shorty," but I declined, because I found the minutes disappearing too fast with the Virgin Mobile prepaid plan.I believe, because they start counting off your time the second you push send when you make a call.So, you are paying for the 15 or 20 seconds it takes your party's voice mail to connect AND the message you leave on his or her voicemail.This adds up.Had I not been unimpressed with the Virgin Mobile plan, I probably would have taken them up on the replacement offer, because I really like the phone.

This super compact phone is great!, It is not a sophisticated model, great for people who needs just a phone. Although it's quality is great, and has many features I didn't expect it to have such as the loudspeaker (and more things), which works great! Lousy performance
The problem with Virgin phones is they use the Sprint network.It's highly unusual that I don't get a dropped call or someone complaining that I'm cutting out real bad.I work very close to the Sprint campus and tower.I can't even stand outside in the parking lot and call across the street without the other person saying I'm cutting out.Don't be a sucker--choose a better phone.

The most awesome Virgin Mobile phone around!
I just bought this phone for my boyfriend and he never had one so he absolutely LOVED it. ^.^ Personally, I thought it was pretty cool as well. I mean blue and black and red and pink are my favorite colors and it's a bargain to have the screening BLUE!! Before I sent it to him (Long distance relationsip), I was playing with it and it's SOOOOO cool. Currently, I have a Camera Virgin Mobile phone and i'd trade it for the one I gave him..hmm better check up on that!

A Classic!!
This phone is the gold stardard to which I compare all cell phones. It is a lot better than even other phones in the moto V60 series. The V60t is highly customizable, not foring its user to use the backgrounds provided. I make most of my calls using the recent calls list that the phone stores, and I like how I can create a button on the main screen that links directly to the recent calls menu. Plenty of call statistics with the call timers. Sound quality is excellent and the phone is the perfect size for pocket carrying. This phone is truely a utilitarian masterpiece in a world of complicated phones with too many bells and whistles and too little overall quality.

Motorola's flagship TDMA flip-phone gets some color
Motorola's second-generation version of their flagship V60 flip-phone continues to prove itself a worthy successor to the industry redefining StarTAC. Those who've yet to jump on the GSM bandwagon will find the V60 to be a solid performer, with a feature set that may not match the bells-and-whistles of GSM phones, but is eminently useful. Perhaps best of all, unlike GSM phones, the TDMA-based V60 retains the ability to fallback to analog (AMPS) service when digital can't be found. This will become less of a differentiator as cellular providers build out their GSM networks, but at this time it can still help you find useable service outside big cities and off major transportation routes.

The original V60 replaced the incredibly popular StarTAC. At about the same thickness (though more uniformly from end to end) and a bit narrower, the V60 was a stylish follow-up. In addition to improved battery life, the V60 added programmable ringtones, voice dialing, and several other useful improvements. The signal and voice quality duplicated or improved upon those of the StarTAC, and the flip-phone form-factor continued to prove more comfortable for handset use than candy-bar styled phones.

The V60 Color retains the advantages of the original V60, and adds a few tweaks. The inside color display is both an improvement (for its greater display capabilities) and a distraction (for its difficulty in viewing under strong sunlight). The external display has been enlarged, which on the one hand allows it to display additional information (signal strength, digial/analog service, battery charge), while on the other reduced the size of the date and time display. The V60 Color's voice dialing now has two modes: the name mode of the original V60, in which you can recall entries in your phone book with a voice tag, as well as digit dialing, in which you can dial 7- 10 and 11-digit phone number by speaking the digits. The latter is particularly handy, though it means that voice dialing now takes an extra step while you ask for either Name or Digit dialing.

Downsides of the V60 Color are mostly the same as the V60. The fixed external antenna can poke you in the side if you carry the phone on your belt. The belt clip that's included with the phone is useable, but not necessarily the most comfortable (the thin Body Glove case, for example has a much more tractable clip). Motorola's menu system isn't always intuitive, and the single-voiced ringtones (no polyphonics, no MP3s) are dull.

If you need a camera, advanced ringtones, Internet browsing or the other bells and whistles of GSM, this is not the phone for you. If you're looking for a stylish, solidly performing TDMA phone with AMPS capability, this is a great pick.

Amazon is great.. phone is great, just say away from AT&T
WARNING: AT&T representatives ("Dawn: R361" and "Max: N360") themselves said during my troubleshooting (as detailed below) that I should NOT have bought through Amazon, and that they have received a barrage of complaints from Amazon buyers!I still really like Amazon, but they're integration with AT&T is non existent.People should not have to wait 2-3 days for service after they receive the phone.Buy the same phone on Amazon, but a different carrier.

this phone surprized me becuz i am more of a nokia person but i like the cool and sleek looks of the motorola V60 color screen. this phone is awesome. its so small and compact, i have had 3 people buy this phone becuz they seen mine and they liked it. if you want a good phone but you dont have alot of money , i suggest you buy the motorola V60 color screen by att wireless ( it has awesome coverage!)

The RL-A760's handsome clamshell form factor houses an internal 128 x 160, 65,000-color display. generally happy
I've had this phone for about a week now. I've recharged it twice, battery life seems to last a few days, less if I use the phone alot. The PCS Vision features are really nice. I have my email forwarded to my phone for certain people I need to get back to right away. My only complaint is that during calls, the people on the other say I'm breaking up sometimes so I would say call quality is not as good as my old A460 (the screen died on that one which I hear is a common problem). I gave the A760 four stars because of all the features but if I had to rate on call quality alone I'd only give it three. I'm leaning towards keeping it because of the other features but may also see what other phones are out there before my 14 days are up. ... Read more
